9:30 pm
I heard the door upstairs being unlocked, opened and closed. I got up, laid Austin down in his car seat and buckled him in. Then I skipped up the stairs and to the front door. Julia and her dad were coming threw the doorway and stomping off their snow covered boots.
"Hey" I said with a smile. They both replied with hi's and hugs. Than, once they both had their coats and boots off Julia said,
"Let's go down to my room and talk."
With worry, I only nodded and than as we reached the bottom of the stairs I stopped her.
"Jules, you have to swear that before you freak out and tell me to go home, you need to hear me out."
"Why would I tell you to go home?"
My mind was racing, I didn't know how to tell her about Austin being here. Lord knows her dad would have a fit. I then could only come to one conclusion.
"Stay here. And don't yell at me, let me explain first okay?" I said. I could hear her say okay back. Then, I grabbed Austin out of his car seat and picked him up. I held his chest against mine and his head rested on my collar bone.
"What the hell Cassidy?!" Julia almost screamed at me.
"Julia shush. You said you'd let me explain. Now sit." I said, pointing to her bed.
She took a breath and then walked to her bed, sat down and crossed her arms. I sat down next to her and explained how my mother, father and Abigail have been and how I had no other choice. About how I couldn't stay there and I wouldn't let Austin grow up with them for parents. Somewhere during that I started crying. Austin sat on my lap, facing me and looked up at me with his adorable little eyes. Julia sighed, hugged me and agreed to let us stay as long as it was okay with her dad and it wasn't permanent. I grinned and we hugged again.
"Honestly Julia, I couldn't thank you enough" I said, wiping away my tears.
"Hey, it's not for sure yet. I still have to clear it up with my dad." Julia told me.
She than went upstairs. I went to mine and Austin's bags. I held him tightly to my chest with one hand and grabbed a his blue blanket with my other. I laid it out on the floor and sat down, placing him in his stomach on the blanket in front of me. I smiled at him as he was up on his hands and knees and swayed back and forth.
Then moments later Julia came down the stairs.
"My dad said that because he love you, you can stay. But only for a little while."
We both laughed and then I got up and hugged her tightly.
"Thank you" I whisper. She nods and we let each other go.
