I woke up to Austin's faint cry and I got up before he woke anyone else up. After taking on the motherly role for the six months he's been alive, I have become a very light sleeper. I stand up and hold him over my shoulder with my one hand as I grab his bottle and formula from my bag. I walk up the stairs and make his bottle. After warming it up and cleaning up the mess I made, I lay him down in my arm and hold him close to me. I stick the bottle in his mouth and go back downstairs.
After we got downstairs I sat down and rested my back on the side of Julia's bed. I looked to my one side and saw my iPod. I grabbed it and turned it on.
After a little while of feeding Austin and scrolling through Facebook I felt Austin's head lean to one side and stop drinking from his bottle. I got up and put the bottle with our things and carefully laid him down in his little blanket bed.
A few hours passed and I couldn't sleep. With Austin and Julia both out like lights, I crawled over to my bag that was overflowing with my clothing and tried on different outfits for my day with Mason.
I decided on a cute pair of light blue, ripped jeans, a skin tone tank top with a grey cardigan overtop all topped off with my pair of lime green converse.
I laid out my outfit and then laid back down. Finally I feel asleep but the morning came soon. I was nervous but also very excited and I really just wanted to see him. I woke up at about 8:23 am and got dressed. Then Austin woke up and I dressed him in a cute pair of jeans and a monster t-shirt.
I decided to let Julia sleep and went upstairs with Austin. As we made it upstairs I saw Julia's dad.
"Good morning" I said smiling.
"Morning Cassidy" he said as he makes coffee. "So this is the little man of the house, huh?" He says and touches the back of Austin's head. Austin giggles and I smile.
"Yes he is" I say smiling.
"He is adorable" he says and smiles softly.
I let him get back to getting ready for work and I grab out some Cheerios and put them in a bowl. I don't add milk or anything because Austin eats them dry.
I went downstairs and sat back in my spot with my back against Julia's bed. I sat with my legs spread apart and sat Austin in between them, holding the bowl of Cheerios in front of him. I grabbed my iPod and turned it on. I had a message from Mason.
"Good morning:)" he had said three minutes ago.
"Good morning to you too:)" I reply.
I get almost instant replies from him all the time, which I love.
"How are you?" He says
"Good, you?"
"Good, thanks"
"I can't wait to see you"
"Me either:)"
Then I noticed Austin was done the Cheerios. I put the bowl off to the side and picked him and my iPod up then walked over to Julia's vanity set. I sat Austin in my lap as I did my makeup. I clicked on Julia's straightener as my hair is sort of naturally wavy. I brushed through my knots and then straightened my hair, which by the way is very hard to do with a six month old in your lap. Somehow I managed to do it though and I was surprised at how good it looked.
I turned around and saw that Julia was slowly waking up.
"Morning sleepyhead" I say and laugh a little. Julia stretches and wipes her makeup covered face.
"Morning" she says groggily. "You look nice"
"Thanks" I say and smile, getting up and walking back over to where I was sitting before.
"You got a message" Julia points out and I look at my lit up iPod screen.
"When do you want to meet, and where?" Mason had asked.
"Uhm..I don't really care:)" I say and he replies,
"I can come and pick you up and we can go somewhere?""Sure, I'm at Julia's right now"
"Does she still live in the same house?"
"Yup:)"
"Okay, I'll be there at 11:30?"
"Sounds good:)"
"Okay:) I can't wait"
"Me either."
