~~~4 years later~~~
Emily's pov:
I had kept up with her case. Knowing I wasn't allowed to, only because Hotch ordered me to stay away from it. Even when I left for a little bit.
We all told them every person who would have it out for her. The only big person was Aidan. The only conflict was he was in jail. So unless one of his goons were behind the killing, then there was nobody else.
"OhmyGod OhmyGod OhmyGod!" Penelope rushed in with an excited expression. Almost having tears down her cheeks.
"Babygirl, you know nobody can understand you when you speak that fast!" Derek taunted. He got up to calm her.
"They got the guy. The one who put Nova in W.P." She spat. Smiling from ear to ear. I sat there in shock. "She's been notified and wants to get out of there asap."
"They got him? Who was it?" I started questioning in disbelief. How did I not see it? I followed her case everyday.
"Ok so, in the fake case file you read for like months, we put random people. But! The guy was named Alex Hewit. He had stalked her for the most part, got upset at some point, and is now is caught. Meaning! She can come home!" The blonde spewed. Fake case?
"Who's getting her?" I threw out another question. How badly I wanted to get her myself.
"Hotch is," Penelope answered. And one cue, Hotch walked out his office with his keys. "Bring her to Rossi's!" Penelope called after him.
He gave a brief nod and left. I cant wait to see her again. It felt like forever.
Nova's pov:
"You're free of harm today," the agent laughed as he sat down on the couch.
"No way!" I shouted. I looked over to the 4 year old boy. He was lost about the conversation, it was obvious, but he was smiling anyways. "You finally get to meet your aunts and uncles!" I waved my hands around.
"Really?!" He lit up even more. I nodded, and he got up and jumped around.
"Go on! Go pack!" I shooed him off. Watching as he ran up the stairs. I lingered on the stairs, then back to the agent. "Thank you, for everything. I seriously will never know how to repay you."
"Don't worry about it! It's my job to keep you safe. You and little man have been my favorite anyways." He bowed his head.
He stood up getting ready to leave. I bid him goodbye, and wait till he left fully. I found my way to my room, realization hitting me.
Nobody knows I have a child.
I start packing. Every nerve I have going into each item. I tried calming myself. But more and more outcomes poured into my head.
They're going to ask who the baby daddy is. And when you tell them, you'll be down for it. The pesky voice soon appeared.
Didn't you disappear forever ago?
Well, yeah, when you didn't have any problems. But now you're going to your sweets. And every problem you didn't have, you do now. So here I am to tell you all the terrible outcomes!
Literally shut up. I can't deal with you again.
Duh! That's the point. I just really hope you're ready for the lovely reactions. Or maybe the very bad, hurt, betrayed, hateful reactions!
You are the worst voice, conscience thing ever.
"Mommy! I'm ready!" My little brunette came running in. His small dinosaur suitcase behind him. I knew it only had his toys, meaning all his clothes still had to be packed. Which also meant I had to pack his clothes in the extra suitcase.
"Ok bubs! Go wait in the living room and I'll be right down," I giggle. He ran off, leaving the suitcase in the doorway. I continued to fold and pack my drawers. Knowing that the drawers were the only thing I had filled.
Glad that even after 4 years, I hadn't fully unpacked everything. I hummed a soft tune to fill the silent void. It stayed like that for a little bit. Until Cosmos came rushing in.
"There's someone at the door for you," he panted. I gave a questioning look and followed him to the door with an insane amount of caution. Seeing Hotch standing outside relived everything.
Quickly tears rushed to blur my vision as I ran to hug him. Missing the oh so familiar face. I held on tight, not wanting to let go. And he held back just as tight.
"God I missed you," I sobbed into his shoulder. I pulled back, noticing his eyesight on something behind me. I spin around to find Cos hiding behind the couch. I crouch down to his level, opening my arms for him to run into. And he does. I raise him on my hip, so he can see Hotch better. "Cos, this is your uncle, Aaron. Aaron, this is Cosmos, your nephew."
"Hi there buddy, it's nice to meet you." Hotch became all soft at the sight of the boy. It was an adorable sight. One I could get used to.
He's only the first. One good reaction, but the rest could be terrible.
I let the small boy down, letting him return to his toys. "A kid?" Was the first thing Hotch said to me. I nodded with a tiny smile. "You don't even like kids."
"Well, I didn't, but I couldn't bare knowing I gave up a child. So I kept him, and I don't regret a single thing." I shrugged. I lead him up to the bedroom where I was packing.
"Who else knows about him?" Hotch started helping me fold clothes.
"Just Agent Marcos and you. I had mentioned it to JJ and Derek but, it was a possibility. I took two test before leaving. I hid them in a drawer in my bathroom, knowing Emily would never look through them." I summed up.
"Everyone knew." He burst my bubble. The grin that was on my lips dropped. "She did go through your drawers. She came back and just said it as if it was a simple fact."
"Fuck. I'm screwed." I began to panic. My breathing started to stagger. Hotch rushing over quickly to calm me.
"You're ok, nobody is mad at you. They all love and care about you, and if that little boy downstairs makes you happy, then they'll be happy you're happy." He soothed.
"But what if they ask me about the dad?! I can't tell them who it is!" I whispered loudly. Hotch quizzically stared at me, now curious. I let a heavy sigh out, "It's Reid. It was a single night, we were both drunk, and I didn't think I would get pregnant!"
"You don't have to tell them anything you don't want. It's all up to you," he reminded. It felt nice to have someone who could comfort me again. Someone who knew me like the back of their hand.
It was nice to have a familiar face around.
