"Are you still confused?"

Caya asked after we had a lunch break. We're now medtech interns in Ramos Hospital. Tita Yvanna, Caya's mom, offered to have our training in their hospital but Caya refused since she didn't want any special treatment. Tita also talked to me but I also declined her offer. If I want to improve myself, it's better in a new environment. But most of our classmates applied there since it is known to be one of the best hospitals.

"I don't know 'Cay." I honestly answered. "I admit, I enjoy and appreciate this internship despite the hard and not so easy part but overall, I have no complaints. Pero 'yon nga. Maybe I am still confused."

She softly tapped my shoulder. "As long as you enjoy what you do and as long as hindi ka napipilitan, carry on.''She smiled. "I think.... The spark is still there. You just gotta find that grit again... your dream before and the reason why you want to proceed to medicine, it's still here. In yourself. You just gotta work hard to lit that fire again, Ki."

And here she goes again with her magical words. Iba talaga 'pag inspired.

"I hope so,"

"Remember our mantra?"

Tumango ako. Together, we recited it.

"Let the tears flow, let the pain cripple but don't let go: Grit."

We sat in silence after that.

Things have been kinda rough these past few weeks. I thought noong napaaway kaming magpi-pinsan sa kabilang basketball team was worst. Kier even got mad at me noong ikwenento ko. But little did we know, something worst would come.

Our cousin, sweet Lili... she's sick. We've been staying with her in Tagaytay as much as we can. I spend most of my time studying, focusing on duty and spending time with Lili and the rest of our cousins.

I told Kier about that so we barely see each other. He's also busy with his company. Then next week, we will have an outreach program in Iloilo. Kaya mukhang matagal-tagal pa bago kami magkita.

"Di ka pa 'rin pinapansin?" I asked her.

She's been pursuing South Johansen, one of the basketball players. He was rude and so snobbed...kay Caya. But he's actually a nice human being 'pag sa ibang tao.

"Well, I think konting push pa." aniya

I rolled my eyes. "Bahala ka. Hihingi-hingi ka ng advise tapos 'di mo rin naman susundin, gago ka!"

She laughed and made a peace sign. "Sorry na! Gwapo, e!"

Ewan ko sa kanya. I was shocked noong nalaman ko na hindi niya pala kilala dati si South e ka-team 'yon ng mga pinsan namin sa basketball. She might be physically present during our cousins game and even practices, but mentally? Hindi naman doon ang focus niya so I can't really blame her.

I mean, we even have a photo with him last year! Noong nanalo ang school sa basketball league. It was a group photo together with Kuya's team. At magkatabi pa sila. I swear!

Caya was more shocked than us when she saw it. She felt betrayed daw. Edi sana mas maaga niya raw nakilala si South. Ang landi!

The days went so fast. Tomorrow, we're going to Iloilo. So he decided to stay in Tagaytay with sweet.

"Hi." I greeted
