"Napapansin ko ah,"
Lahat kami ay napalingon kay Caya. We're all staying at sweet Lili's house. Final exam na kasi namin next day. Books and papers are on the sofa, floor, coffee table...its everywhere.
"You don't bring your car to school, Ki." aniya
Tumikhim ako.
"Just too lazy to drive, 'cay." I said in a bored tone as much as I can. I just think that, its not the right time yet.
Caya just shrugged. I smiled. I know she's busy with South, kaya hindi niya napapansin lahat. That's a good thing.
But I don't know with Ate Xixi. Yesterday, she asked if ever I saw Kier again.
Last day of exam, last subject na lang at tapos na kami. Though I'm concerned because Caya looked so pale. I'm sure she only had three hours of sleep or less.
So when my phone beeps, I immediately opened it to see. It was Kier. He's waiting in a coffee shop near here.
Sorry, Lord.
Minsan lang po 'to.
I grabbed my small bag and hung it on my shoulder before I picked up my papers and books on the table.
"Bye! See you all later!" paalam ko saka lumabas
The coffee shop wasn't that far. It was just like a five minute walk. Nang makapasok ako, kaagad ko siyang natanaw. I smiled at him. He stood up at sinalubong niya ako. He got the books and papers out of my hand.
"Last exam, right?" he asked
"Yup!"
"I ordered café au lait for you." He said as he placed my books on the table.
I pouted. Umupo ako bago nagsalita. "I want espresso."
"Tss. I'm sure you've been drinking coffee like water since your exam started." he said. "It still has coffee though."
"But not strong enough,"
"You will have a hard time sleeping if you drink another strong coffee. How many cups have you had since this morning?"
"Two!" I quickly said.
His eyes narrowed.
I rolled my eyes. "Fine. Three cups." I admitted
"Too much caffeine in your system is not good."
"Oo na," suko ko.
When our orders arrived, he placed the slices of blueberry cheesecake at my side while I was busy reading my notes. Just a quick review before the exam starts.
It was his. And when it was almost time, hinatid niya ako.
"I'll wait for you? Or do you have plans with your cousins?"
"Tingnan ko. Caya's not feeling well kaya baka 'di matuloy." I answered.
"Text me?"
I smiled. "Sure." Then I removed my seatbelt. Before I went out, he kissed me on my forehead.
"Good luck in your exam, babe."
