2003

It has become a critical situation, the doctors are desperate, the only situation they find viable is for my wife to give birth right now, without a diaper bag, no clothes, or anything ready. "Two weeks before the actual birthdate won't do much damage" was what they told me.

-Mr. Azevedo?- The doctor approached me. -Your wife is in the delivery room, despite the situation she must give birth now or one of the two will die. But do not panic, they will be fine, if you want you can go into the delivery room with your wife.- How does he expect me to believe that? It is a critical situation, my third daughter is about to be born, and he talks as if it was only a little problem that will be fixed quickly. I can only pray and ask God to take control of the situation, because in my strength I can't do it.

–It's okay Dr. Herrera– I said calmly, but inside I was desperate, I wanted to cry, but I must be there for my wife. -I'll go in to accompany her- The doctor made me put on a gown, gloves, a mask and a hat, after explaining that I should not intervene in the delivery for the safety of the mother and the child, I was finally able to enter the room.

The first thing I saw was Maria, her face was red and sweaty, her beautiful blue eyes showed the  fatigue of fighting. As soon as she saw me, she screamed my name and I approached her.

-Everything will be fine my  love, just breathe- I said while she squeezed my hand with great force.

After an hour, Emily finally arrived, she was born at 00:50 am, I think she has her mother's eyes, when she was born, they only let me hold her for a few moments, they took her away because they needed to do some exams. As soon as they told me that the exams would take a long time, I called my brother.

-Hi Leo, how is Maria? And how is the girl doing? -

–Hi Sebas, Maria is resting, after an hour of labor, she is very tired. But I called you because they took Emily to do some studies and exams, we'll still be here for an hour or more.–

–Oh brother, that's bad, I hope they recover, don't worry about the children, they are already asleep, I'll take care of them until you come back. -

-Thank you Sebas, you are a great help. See you later. -

-Goodbye -

After my conversation with Sebas, we spent one more hour in the hospital, thank God they released Maria and Emily that same day. It turns out that Emily was born with respiratory problems, they sent her with oxygen for a month and then we will see how her lungs evolve.

We got home at 2:30 in the morning, I thanked my brother for all the help, obviously the children were asleep so we went straight to the room to rest.
