Mira stretched in her bed, groggily looking around as the sun shone through her window. Her body felt tense as if she had run a marathon the day before but also strangely relaxed.

"Good morning."

Mira shot up to find Aiden sitting on the bean bag, in the corner of her room, wrapped in a blanket despite the heat outside. He was holding a cup of mushroom soup that Ray had made for him. His eyes were puffy and his nose was red.

Mira cringed, feeling a certain amount of guilt wash over her. Whilst he was busy hurling his guts out last night, she was busy upstairs, getting it on with his sister.

Her face heated up, not being able to look him in the eye. Before she got out of bed, she peeked under her blanket to make sure she was decent. "How are you feeling, Phoenix?"

He shrugged. "Just a bit drowsy but that is probably from the number of drugs Ray gave me. Otherwise, I think I should be fine. It doesn't feel like I'm going to die – not now anyway. Last night was a different story."

Mira rolled her eyes, sighing dramatically. "What would I do without you?" she said as she picked up her phone. "I'm going to go out for a while. Do you need me to get you something for you?"

Aidenspastically sneezed, holding out his cup of soup. Mira scurried over and took it from him before he could spill it.

"Where are you going?" he asked after his sneezing fit ended, sounding like his nose was severely blocked. Mira offered him a tissue and he took it to blow his nose.

"I'm due for a waxing appointment."

He frowned, looking down at her smooth legs. "Here, I was hoping to stay in and cuddle with my best friend, whilst binge-watching Hwarang."

She rolled her eyes. "Phoenix, we can do that later. Plus, we need to finish our assignment first." She gave him back his soup.

He watched Mira move around the room and text the beauty salon. He sipped his warm soup. After she booked her appointment, she went into the shower and hoped any evidence from last night would be removed. She got out, wrapped herself in a towel, and whistled to herself as she walked back to her room. She glanced over at Aiden. "Where's Avery?"

He narrowed his eyes, contemplating his response.

"She left earlier," he said.

He waited for Mira's reaction but she covered her emotions well.

"Mom offered her some tea but she turned it down saying she had some preparations to take care of. I smell another party on the horizon," he added and then he blew his nose, indicating he couldn't smell very well in the first place.
