It was nearly evening and they all sat outside on the deck of Mira's house in silence as they watched the sun gradually crawl lower and lower.
Ray had made hot chocolate for everyone, seeing as he was the only person not outwardly traumatized by the confessions earlier.
Giya had cracked open a bottle of her writer's whiskey, which she had stashed for stressful writing sessions. This situation seemed more appropriate. She poured herself a glass and poured one for Avery too. Giya handed it to her and Mira knew that was her mother's way of giving Avery a peace offering.
Aiden was the first to break the silence. "Do I get some?" he asked Giya and she laughed.
