Wobble, wobble, Mira can't walk. Aiden reads Líla's diary. Evelyn!?
Aiden, don't go to sleep.
Mira wobbled her way up the path leading to The Falls with Avery walking close behind to steady her once in a while. Mira took a step and grabbed onto the makeshift rope railing. Avery sniggered behind her. Mira glared at her.
"Stop laughing. You're to blame for this."
Avery cocked her eyebrow as she stuffed her hand into her pockets. "You were the one who insisted on coming tonight even after everything."
"Well, Aiden said he's here already."
Avery narrowed her eyes. "With Adam?"
They shared a knowing look. Avery sighed.
"At the rate, you're going, we're only gonna be there at dawn."
Avery stepped in front of Mira and bent forward, offering her back for Mira to hop on. She climbed on grudgingly.

Aiden was sitting at the edge of the natural pool, the small tidal waves enveloping his bare feet. Adam sat next to him scrolling through his phone, as Aiden read through Líla's old diary.
After their fight at the movies, Aiden tracked Adam down, leaving behind Avery and Mira to deal with Evelyn.
Naturally, he and Adam got into another fight when he suggested they read Líla's old diaries but Aiden managed to pin him down long enough to explain.
Even though people about Mira's fall that happened two years back, the only people who knew it was from Danger Peak were their family. Danger Peak was hidden from the view below so no one could have told it was from there and assumed she'd flopped her jump from the normal cliff. It wasn't uncommon for someone to break an arm or leg with an awkward fall and details of Mira's accident were kept on the down-low because of the drug situation.
No one else knew but somehow Evelyn did.
Adam, like any sane person, realized Aiden was onto something or, at least, wouldn't give up till he found something. Aiden didn't want to threaten Adam with the memory of last year but his gut told him that this was worth the risk. After that Adam gave him Líla's diary without any complaints but with a glare that could kill.
Now, they sat side by side, Aiden peeked at Adam next to him.
He had refused to read Lila's diary when Aiden asked him if he wanted to.
Aiden went back to the diary. He flipped from the back to the front picking out random entries of Lila's life, trying to manifest the pages that held clues.
Giya was a big fan of manifestations and the power of intuition which he hoped would help him find something.
He felt really bad about snooping through her personal life but if it would help Avery and Mira, it was worth a shot and he found details about Líla's life that he was sure no one would ever have found out.
