Day 1
Hogwarts 8:33 AM
Embers POV:
"Classes start at 9:00 and we need to find the rest of your uniform," I say as we stand up from the bench. Blake and I ate breakfast while arguing whether or not Mom and Dad are here, along with placing bets on who's going to die first as a little lighten the mood joke- at least I hope so.
We continue to walk in the halls keeping our heads low trying not to catch someone's attention. When we turn a corner a little too sharply we bump into some people and wide-eyed I look up at Draco and Blaise.
"Well hello, darling" Blaise smiles. Blaise is rather tall, standing at the same height as Draco which is around 6'1, so they both tower over me as we stand in the hallway. He is always nice and I could never suspect anything else. He was about to continue before I interrupted him.
"Good morning," I respond grabbing onto Blake's hand to walk past them. Before I could get far a hand gripped my wrist and yanked me back. I look at the hand and watch as it is slowly pulled upward.
"Draco Malfoy, love" Draco leans down slowly to kiss the roof of my hand like it was a pleasant introduction. Draco has a nasty smile on his face at the moment and it makes my stomach turn, realizing how much character development is ahead of him.
"Yeah no," Blake laughs and he takes my hand from Draco's throwing his away and clutching mine behind his back. Blakes big brother side was coming into play and I smile knowing how much these two are going to hate each other.
"And you are?" He asks, eyeing Blake up and down with his scrunched-up face. Draco always had that face when he was disgusted and I try not to laugh at Blakes' tilted head. He's intrigued and you can tell he's ready to put up a fight.
Before I could speak he had answered "Blake" and I mentally facepalmed at his idiocy. We should probably give fake names, but that's behind us now. Draco snarls "Derek was it?" Blake asks, holding out his hand for a handshake. I have a very hard time holding back laughter, so does Blaise.
"I'm Blaise, it is a pleasure to meet you" Blaise over pronounces the pleasure and takes Blakes' hand to shake since Draco refused. No one really stands up for themselves against Draco, and now Blaise has seen it all.
"It's Draco, dung brains" Draco mutter with pure venom, he was going to continue but a small voice comes from behind Blaise
"Blaise we have potions" Luna speaks taking Blaise's hand. I start to guess the reasons and I instantly come to the conclusion they are dating. Blaise and Luna are adorable together but without my script, I couldn't tell if I had done this or it was real.
Luna looked at me with a soft smile "I'm Luna" she offers. Luna is a petite thing with a powerful smile and chirpy voice. She's always kind and she always knows what is going on with someone.
"Ember" I smile back giving up on the fake names. She smiles and looks up at Blaise, he's already looking at her with admiration.
Amusement flashes in Draco's eyes now that he knows my name and it takes everything in me not to roll my eyes and put up the bird. I just have to remind myself about his character development "Well, we have class now, it was nice meeting you" I look at all of them before dragging Blake by the hand and pulling him away.
As we retreat he turns his head back and yells "See you later Derek, Blaise and Luna" and a smirk creeps its way up onto his face as he turns back around to walk beside me.
We walk to our first class which turns out to be defence against the dark arts. I have no idea what we're going to do since we don't have wands but right now I'm thinking we stay in the back and talk to no one. When we arrive we lean against the back wall minding our business waiting for Professor Lupin to start.
