Scorpia enjoys the ride, holding onto Lachlan who picks small squiggly roads and is a very experienced driver. Nature shoots by and she feels excitement in her stomach.
Lachlan slows down when they enter the city center and stops at the bookstore. He takes his helmet off and looks over his shoulder. Scorpia takes her helmet off and smiles wide at him. She gets off the bike and Lachlan swings his leg over it. As soon as he's standing on both feet, he gets hugged by Scorpia, making him stiffen up for a second, hugging her back once he's over the shock.
He hears someone clear his throat and looks over Scorpia's shoulder straight into his son's eyes. "She's my girl, dad. Let her go."
Scorpia laughs, "Well... the silver fox version of you is kinda hot. And he has a shed full of bikes on top of that."
Lachlan's laughter echoes through the street, while Logan stares at her. She wraps her arms around his neck and pulls him down for a kiss. Logan's hands find her ass and he deepens the kiss. "Mmm Logannnnn."
Lachlan asks where Cait is and Logan says: "In 'So Coco', of course."
Lachlan nods, "Have fun! I'm going to find my beautiful wife for a coffee date."
Logan takes Scorpia with him into the old church building and she freezes on the threshold. Books everywhere, in all shapes and sizes, stairs going to the second floor, stained glass windows that filter the sunlight and bathe several areas in warm colors.
She breathes in the scent of books and starts exploring. Logan follows her and enjoys her reactions. He offers to carry the books she finds and is holding a few about myths and sages within minutes, smiling as he hears her hum while she reads the titles.
Scorpia finds a few books that are not in the right order, reads parts of them, and puts them back in the right place. She walks around the bookcase and suddenly stops in her tracks.
Logan moves closer and sees a little girl with pigtails sitting on the floor with a book in her lap. Scorpia moves past the girl quietly and smiles.
They make their way to the cash register after Scorpia touched and checked everything. The old man behind the counter says he saw what she did in Scottish. Logan translates it and Scorpia shoots the man a questioning look.
The man laughs and says: "That you put the books in the right order. And that's why I'm giving you a book as a gift. A book that suits you, I think."
He hands her the book and she reads the title; 'The life of Fionnghal nic Dhòmhnaill'. Logan grins and thanks the man, affirming that the book suits her perfectly.
They walk out together and Logan asks: "And? Hated it, right?"
She looks so happy that a chuckle escapes him. He grabs her hand, "Come on. Let's go to 'So Coco' to see if mom has gotten over the initial shock yet."
She skips next to him as she looks around, seeing the light-blue front of 'So Coco', and when they walk in, Lachlan waves at them.
"Bonnie?" Logan looks at her a bit worried. "I'm afraid my dad's a little bit in love with you. Because he's being all kinds of weird."
Scorpia giggles and says: "Well, that's mutual."
Logan sits down next to his father as soon as they reach the table where his parents are seated. Cait asks Scorpia how her visit to the bookshop was and Scorpia explains how it felt, about the girl on the floor and the book the man behind the counter gave her.
She shows them the book and Lachlan says: "Oh yes, that suits you. You're going to love it. It's about a tough, strong woman."
He winks at her and she blushes a little. Logan mumbles something and Cait sighs.
