Scorpia's days are filled with sleep and rest, her bruises fading away steadily and the pain getting less with every new morning. She spends her days lying on one of the lounge chairs with a book or her laptop, enjoying the fact that she's in the cafe but still has a little privacy. Family and friends come over to spend some time with her regularly and she has a lot of time to cuddle Logan and Leo.
Logan keeps a close eye on her and nine days before Lexy and Bruno's wedding his Bonnie is able to do everything herself. There's still a little bit of pain but she's even able to ride her motorcycle again.
Scorpia and Bruno took off this morning to visit a few locations they used to frequent when they were younger. Like a goodbye tour of memories, a way to celebrate their love for each other and to leave their single life behind them.
It also leaves Logan with a perfect opportunity to arrange some things for their upcoming holiday without her finding out about it.
He knows, thanks to Bruno, that she did a show and tell about Nessie when she was a little girl. And she got very mad when a boy in her class said Nessie was a boy.
He laughs to himself and dials chef Lettieri's number. Flavio knows him personally and the good man has a restaurant called 'Bella Italia' in Inverness. It can't get any more perfect than that.
Chef Lettieri is on board to surprise Scorpia right away, excited about an Italian woman who gave her heart to a Scot.
Logan calls his father next and after some small talk he asks him if he can arrange a Harley for Scorpia to ride when they're there. His father gets excited. "You have to be here this weekend, boy! It's 'Thunder In The Glens'! She's going to love that! Live music, Harley Davidson demo bikes, and loads of Harley enthusiasts!"
His dad's been riding motorbikes for as long as Logan can remember and to be frank, he's never heard him this excited about something. He laughs at his father's fire. His dad is the 'silent waters' type. His mom is like mamma: sweet, warm, and downright terrifying when she's mad at you.
He hears his mom's voice in the background. "Are you talking to my sweetest boy without calling me? Tell me it's not true, Lachlan!"
He can see his dad's face in his mind and hears him reply softly. "Caitlin, thois maitheanas dhomh. Here."
He quickly hands the phone to her and Logan chuckles.
"Logan?"
"Yes?"
"Logan! My sweet boy! How's Scorpia? And Leo? And you? When are you coming to Scotland?"
Leo, who has been resting on his dad's arm in silence all this time, starts talking as soon as he hears her. Logan put the phone on speaker halfway down the conversation with his dad because Leo woke up. And he recognizes his grandma's voice all too well.
"Nana! Amo!"
His mom starts talking to Leo and the little boy answers her happily, while Logan listens to them with a smile on his face. They understand each other perfectly, both speaking the language of love.
Logan tells his mom all about Scorpia's recovery as soon as Leo is done telling his grandmother about his adventures. He also adds that he is going to try and travel to Scotland this weekend.
His mom loses it and has to hang up because she's too excited to keep talking. He laughs as he shakes his head and carries Leo downstairs to make him something to eat.
....
Scorpia and Bruno drive onto the parking lot and park the bikes, side by side. She takes her helmet and gloves off, beaming at her brother, who smiles back at her. He takes in the joy displayed on her face and knows his eyes express the same emotion. They don't need words to know what the other person feels.
