In the elevator, Ryan Brandon Miller was somewhat impatient today. A strange odd vibes were engulfing him – unknown to him.
He was restless today and didn't know the reason for his sudden impulsiveness.
"All fine dude?" his best friend – James Smith asked him, who looked concerned, curious.
"Yes. What happened?" he retorted – a bit harsh
"And that should be her question. You look worn out already." He nodded towards the glass wall of the lift where Ryan looked at his own reflection.
He looked good in that white shirt, grey suit and perfect. He had a tall, sexy body – not over built not lanky, but a well-built body complimenting his height. But yes, his equally good looking friend was right.
He already looked tired at the start of the day – strange. He slept well yesterday for the first time in weeks, and still had that tired eyes on his face.
"No. Nothing's wrong with me. Maybe the flight journey and the schedule"
Ryan looked at James – and was sure James didn't buy this explanation. Ryan never had any problem with late night flights or early morning meetings. This was the first time.
"Which floor is their office?" Ryan asked him
"Nineteenth."
Fifth, sixth, seventh...... they were going up. Ryan again turned towards the opposite wall of the elevator where he could see their reflection on the glass.
Two good looking men were making their way to meet one of the most talented women in the industry. Two women – he reminded himself. He knew Katherine Moore very well, who had a head to keep up with her work and expectations. Plus – she was his friend.
James was mainly attending this meeting on Kate and her friend's insistence. He told him she was good. And he believed him.
She suggested about a friend of hers – who owned one of the reputed Management Consultant firm of the city. He heard their name a lot in the media – 'Fusion Heights' quite a unique name for a consultancy firm.
Ryan remembered now...he had seen her photographs on newspapers. Even, Kate showed her friend's pictures on her phone when she was referring about this company. She had worked in few big potential events – that turned out to be a grand success. But never had a chance to interact. This would be...interesting. He thought.
On James and Kate's insistence, he wanted to try his luck with this lady with a lovely name – Kayla Claire Elizabeth Winston. Rather a rare one.
He wanted her help – her ideas to launch his new show.
All he wanted was a favorable and a successful meeting with this woman.
Eleventh, Twelfth, Fourteenth...
Ryan again saw his reflection – he was the same, but a little changed.
No doubt, he had lost some weight with all the personal affairs hanging on his head for a very long time. Six months and Veronica Young still running behind his life forever and he had narrow escaped her each time – took a great amount of energy and equal amount of health from him.
He hated to treat her that way and hated more when she treated him that way. She was unbearable.
As sudden wave of realization hit him, right through his belly – he turned towards her friend.
