Her rest of the day went hectic. Now all she needed was to have some sleep and also some food – she realised, she hasn't eaten the whole day since her breakfast and was very hungry.
It was seven when she reached home. Hoping to find Nancy, who could fill me with some food – she went to the kitchen. She didn't find Nancy, but found a note on the microwave and her handwriting on it –
'Julia would serve your dinner. I'm gone to run errands. Your mother's biggest trouble is arriving tomorrow at eleven- so thought to pick some pickles and tuna. Your mother is at Mrs. Wager's place for dinner and your father will join her shortly. I will be home soon.
– Nancy'
P.S.: Food is in the microwave.
Kayla found a pepperoni pizza in the microwave and mango juice in the fridge and a readily kept cheese nuggets to munch. When she saw one of the housemaids, entering the kitchen.
She was a young brunette with brown eyes. She was pretty and petite in size. Julia's mother Jean was working with her Grandmother Winston's before in Tennessee. But, unfortunately, Jean and her husband Jared met with an accident and Kayla's grandmother decided to send the eighteen-year-old Julia to New York to her house. So that she gets a change and time to overcome her personal loss. Now, for the past five years, Julia has been working under Nancy in the Winston household.
"Good evening, Ms. Winston, I'm sorry I kept you away from your dinner. Please be seated, I'd serve you your dinner in a minute"
"That's fine Julia. I just entered the house" she assured her.
Julia immediately took out a pepperoni pizza in the microwave and mango juice in the fridge and poured it into a glass and took out another dish to display the readily kept cheese nuggets to munch.
She served Kayla and the food was really appealing
Oh Nancy. I really do love you.
"Thanks Julia." She murmured
"- Now what did you say 'bout her biggest trouble arriving?" Kayla murmured again, looking at Nancy's note.
When her brain cells became active, the plate she was holding almost slipped off, but she grabbed it. Oh Her God! This better not be that.
"Oh. Oh. No. Not Aunt Clarice. She is not arriving." She silently prayed
She heard her baby coming – EG, snuffling around with an enthusiastic bark.
"There her hero. Come did you have your dinner?" she looked for his bowl, which she found already filled with dog food.
"Come on baby, have your food. Be good stay and eat them"
He digs into his food, enjoying every bit of his dog food. Kayla added some water in his water bowl and saw him drinking those hurried sips. He was hungry.
It rested on her knee, while she ate her dinner – occasionally talking to him and stroking him with a free hand.
Thinking why her aunt has planned her sudden trip to New York?
She heard footsteps, and saw Nancy entering the kitchen with Julia.
Nancy looked at the plate, satisfied – she had managed to eat the whole pizza, spoke –
"Now if you get a pepperoni pizza daily, you would eat without throwing any tantrums. Good. But I would be happy if you show the same affection to your diet, when I fix it."
