"Kayla!" someone shouted. "Kayla! Damn it. Come down." Frantic, horror-stricken voice begged her again.

"Jesus Christ! Open your eyes. WAKE UP!" she could hear Kate's scared voice again. But she couldn't open her eyes

"OH MY GOD! Kayla! What on earth you think you're doing? I say come down." She heard Nancy's voice loud and worried.

"What is wrong with her? Kayla?!" she cried

Now, she realized someone was pulling and tugging her arm. But she was unable to see anything. It was like somebody had put glue-stick on her eyes and it wouldn't open. And suddenly, somebody hit her hard on her face.

Ouch!

But she couldn't see them; she was engulfed in the darkness.

It ached. It really ached.

And something splashed on her. Some liquid. She felt cold

She was now wet.

Water, she could feel her face wet. She slowly regained her senses – like having come out of a dream and what was more dangerous is to find herself standing on the parapet wall of her terrace garden situated on the sky scrapper and She was drenched in water.

What is going on? She thought terribly mortified at the sight before me. Kate, Nancy were tugging her arm and settling me down. She was standing at the parapet wall!

"OH My GOD! What on earth am I doing here?" She cried as realization hit her like a speeding fireball.

"HOLD ON" Kate ordered. Kate and Nancy supported her to come down. Took her to the coffee table on the garden and made her sit.

"She's fine. Oh Lord! Oh sweet Lord! She's fine" tears spilled out of Nancy's eyes.

"Nancy, don't worry dear. This woman – mad woman is fine here." Kate soothed her.

Temper still flickered in her tone. Obviously she was mad at me.

"Please stay calm." She ordered.

Nancy never wept.

First, Kayla was petrified to death with her own stunt and Nancy's emotional imbalance had given her another jolt of shock.

She saw Kate – her best friend soothing and crooning Nancy, trying to put her back.

"Nancy?" Kayla asked very timidly "Nancy, I'm really sorry"

Nancy's eyes flashed at her direction with utmost annoyance.

"YOU!" she stood at her feet at once, though her body still didn't gather much control "What the hell do you exactly think you were doing walking on that thing right in the middle of the night?"

"I..." she realized, she didn't have any answer for that. She was confused.

"Do you even have the faintest idea of what exactly you have put me and your friend here for some time now? Do you realize how Miranda and George are going to take this once they are home? She will be horrified to death to know her only child was attempting a suicide in the middle of the night"

Suicide? What? No. I was not going to attempt a suicide. I was just stopping the girl from...her thoughts trailed away.

She saw Nancy gaining her color back... She flushed red now with temper burning her cheeks.

"Nancy..." she whispered

"What the fuck is wrong with you Kayla Claire Elizabeth Winston? Have you utterly lost your mind?" Kate yelled at her "Do you have any explanation to give us for that outlandish feat you brilliantly performed a little while ago? What was that damn it? Speak!"
