It was a bad day. A bad week. A bad month. Kayla was thinking all of these at once. She was sure that she was completely running out of luck. There is something which is not going as per her plans. First the last night's episode ran through her mind, then her session got cancelled which actually she was looking forward to have the entire week and the worst news she received was from the two Detectives who were investigating her accident and revealed the bad news.

Dr. Grace Trevelyen was dead. She couldn't understand why her. Grace was a great woman she didn't deserve to die.

With Grace gone, her chances of finding out what lied behind the golden door was also gone. She couldn't trust just anyone - any other shrink to help her with her further sessions. Maybe she will never find what was happening.

Interrupting the silence and thoughts, her phone buzzed, she had a ghost smile on her lips. It was Ryan

"Hey. What's up?"

"Kayla." he responded

"What's wrong?"

"Well...Nothing is wrong."

"Drop the act Ryan"

He sighed before he spoke "Nothing is wrong. Nothing actually. It's just that I have to leave for Lexington ."

Her heart dropped. She wasn't prepared for his sudden departure.

"When?"

"Now. Immediately"

"Why?" she asked

"My grandparents. My Grandfather is sick - he has been for a while. He has been diagnosed with Pneumonia - all curable. But considering his age, he just wants me there by his side. He is too weak and fragile. And my Grandma is bitting her nails off - worried. She needs me. They need me Kay. I need to be there. Anyways I also thought - that since we are taking off next week to Lexington. I might as well take off now. I don't want to miss this is chance of seeing them - just in case" he sighed "I will make all the necessary arrangements there before you come."

"Well, I understand that you need to go. Are you going alone?" she asked

"No. Samatha is tagging along."

"Samantha?" she asked curiously

"Well. J knows the place very well apart from me, so I have left him behind so that he could tag along with you guys. You won't have any problem. Samantha is tagging along with me as she needs to set everything here - technical aspects and a couple of days more in her hand will help her out"

"Oh" that's all she mumbled

"I will have everything arranged by Friday noon.  You have your tickets booked for Saturday morning. You will be reaching the Lexington Airport terminal by late afternoon. I will connect with you on Friday evening and explain everything to you. But you need to take care of yourself Kayla."

"You too. Ryan, you know I would have stopped you from going if I didn't know how important and urgent this trip is. I will see you soon. Be safe"

"You too. Love you"

He cut the phone. She just settled into her couch. She didn't know what to say.

She felt something was odd. But she couldn't say what it was. Something was definitely wrong. Something was not fitting. Everything that happened in the past few days , were actually pieces of a big puzzle. The attack on her. Cancellation of her next session. Dr. Grace Trevelyen's death. Ryan's sudden rush to Lexington. Something was there which was stopping her or maybe she was thinking so much. She didn't know what to say anymore. She just switched off the TV which was running and climbed the bed.
