Since late that night, Sasuke hadn't dared to blink an eye away from his phone, as if his eyes were glued to it. He'd devised a strategy to earn Naruto's forgiveness and was determined to carry it out flawlessly. Nothing would stand in his way.

He tried several times to fall asleep, but it was six a.m. before he realized it. He accepted the fact that he wouldn't be getting any sleep, so he decided to just get ready since he'd have to be at school in less than an hour.

He sat up from his bed and grabbed some jeans from his closet as well as the debate shirt he had received the day prior from Mr. Hatake before running to his bathroom to take a quick shower.

Sasuke sat on the leather couch, tapping his foot against the wood floor impatiently. He was waiting for Neji, questions flowing his mind as he worried about what would happen in less than an hour.

He was anxious and worried about every possible outcome. What if he wasn't able to get to the school on time and the bus left him? What if Naruto decided not to give him another chance? He wouldn't be shocked.

Sasuke passed a hand though his hair, trying his best not to pull on it. He sighed and pulled out his phone, deciding on sending another message to Neji.

Sasuke: are you here yet
Sasuke: what's taking so long

Only a few minutes later did he get a response.

Neji: I'm outside.

Sasuke leapt to his feet and was ready to dash out the door when he realized he forgot to get his binder. He spun around and dashed to his room, snatching it from his desk and sprinting back out.

He climbed into Neji's car and threw his binder on the backseat after pulling open the passenger side door. "Took long enough." He muttered under his breath. He didn't mean to come off as ungrateful, but he had been so worried about getting there on time.

The brunette rolled his eyes and started driving again. "Quit being ungrateful. Who wakes up at six in the morning anyway?"

Sasuke reached for his seatbelt and began to fasten it. "Dumbass, we have to be in school by seven a.m. So of course I'll be up at six a.m."

"The bus ride to school isn't long, so getting up early isn't required, and the bus won't leave at exactly seven o'clock. Why are you in such a hurry?" Neji inquired, his brow furrowed in skepticism.

"I'm not." Sasuke denied, crossing his arms and staring out the window next to him to prevent any eye contact that might reveal his deception.

"You are." Neji insisted, he knew Sasuke well.

"I'm not."

"You texted me to hurry up at six am."

"It was just six o'clock!" Sasuke sighed and leaned back against the headrest. He was well aware that he was in the wrong, but he wasn't about to tell Neji, of all people, that he was looking forward to seeing Naruto.

"I was trying to get my sleep in." Neji looked away from the road to glare at Sasuke before looking back.

"Well, then you should've gone to sleep earlier." Sasuke huffed as a scowl formed on his face.
