Naruto felt his pulse pounding against his chest, his breathing growing hard and ragged as he locked eyes with the man in front of him. In a fight, he had no chance of defeating this man. He'd almost certainly die! He appeared to be at least double Naruto's age, which didn't help matters when his biceps were very apparent through his shirt.

The guy grinned, his hold on Naruto's shirt tightening as he saw his frightened expression. "Not quite so arrogant now, eh?" His desire for vengeance had only grown ever since Naruto had kicked him between the legs. Never in his life had he been so embarrassed and disappointed in himself.

Naruto came back to reality as he realized that if he didn't stop panicking now and start planning a way out, things wouldn't turn out well. Pursing his lips, he leaned his head even further against the brick wall as he raised his dangling legs and kicked the man in the chest, causing him to grunt and fall back.

As he lost his balance, the man let go of Naruto's shirt, letting him fall to the ground. It hurt to hit the cement, but Naruto didn't care because if he didn't run now, he wouldn't have another chance later.

He pushed himself up as quickly as he could, his body wobbling as he attempted to regain his balance. Next, he turned on his heel and was about to run when he felt something grab his ankle and pull him back, sending his face crashing down onto the cement for the second time.

Before he could try to stand up, his leg was pulled backwards and he was flipped over, the only thing visible being the sky and the gang member's body hovering over him. "Did you think you'd be able to get away? You're just making this more enjoyable for me." Naruto felt shivers down his spine as he saw him smirked sadistically.

"No-!" Naruto pleaded as he brought his hands up to cover his face. "I swear, I thought you were someone else!"

The man didn't listen, he brought his hand up, his fist colliding with Naruto's stomach, causing the blond excruciating pain. He didn't stop there, he even targeted his face, hitting it as hard as possible. Naruto was sure he'd get a bruise that would last weeks... That is, if he survived which didn't seem likely at the moment.

As he felt his whole body throb with insufferable pain, he wondered if this was it for him. He'd never be friends with Kiba again. Maybe that was a good thing though. Maybe he wouldn't be burdening the people around him with the chore of being his friend.

A few more punches were felt before Naruto went numb, he had made the decision that he didn't want to suffer any longer. When he tried to open his eyes one last time to say his goodbyes to the world, he was surprised to find that someone had come to his aid.

Sasuke.

That's right, if he died now then Sasuke wouldn't be able to prove that he indeed wanted to be friends. Kiba was wrong.

Naruto smiled up at the raven who was running towards him, his expression oddly showing worry, before he picked up the blond and continued to run.

Sasuke sat next to Neji's seat, a small smile dancing on his lips; he was overjoyed that his plan had worked out. Naruto had not yet forgiven him, yet. But he did at least listen to his apology, which was a step forward.

Neji cast a dagger-like glance at Sasuke. "Get your ass to work and stop daydreaming about Naruto." He hissed as he flipped through a page in his binder, cursing under his breath. "Have you prepared any questions yet?"

Sasuke's smile faded as he turned and glared at the voice. "I'm not daydreaming about him," He retaliated, completely ignoring Neji's query.
