They took the elevator down after all four boys had changed into their swimwear. Except for Lee, no one wanted to walk three flights of stairs, and they wouldn't let him.

Naruto took a cautious step into the elevator, his legs feeling like jelly, catching the railing as soon as he was inside. Thoughts of the elevator breaking down drifted through his mind. Being in elevators was one of his fears. Who didn't fear going in elevators? He was jealous of people who didn't. Every second felt like an eternity.

When the elevator doors finally opened, Naruto rushed out and led the way to the table where Mr. Sarutobi awaited them.

"How's it going, everyone?" Kiba smiled as he took a seat next to his blond friend. "So, what are we having?"

"Can you please stop being so obnoxious?" Neji grumbled as he took a seat across from the other two best friends, next to Sasuke.

When the principal walked in, everyone became quiet, just as Naruto was about to retaliate against Neji for being disrespectful to his friend. "Everyone has arrived, as far as I can tell. Take advantage of the food that the lunch ladies are about to distribute to each table! In about thirty minutes, we'll be heading out the back to the waterpark!" As everybody cheered, the lunch ladies that had come along on the trip started putting food on the tables for everyone.

Mr. Sarutobi took the food on their table, which included water bottles and breakfast sandwiches, and slid it down to the center of the table. "Breakfast sandwiches come in two varieties: ham and sausage. Take your pick as well as a water bottle with you." He offered an explanation and all of the food in the center was gone in a matter of seconds.

Naruto snatched up his food and ripped the package open. He hadn't eaten since the morning, and the delicious aroma of the food certainly didn't help. "I'm hungry!" He moaned, his ham breakfast sandwich making him drool.

Kiba cast a glance over at Naruto. "It's not fair that you got ham." He sulked. He'd also wanted a ham one, but everyone moved quickly, and before he knew it, all of the food in the center had vanished, leaving only a single water bottle and a sausage breakfast sandwich.

He wasn't a fan of sausage.

Droplets of water from evaporation smeared across the interior of the package as he slowly opened it. He took the sandwich out of the pouch, raised the top bun, and sniffed the sausage, making him frown. He'd rather die than eat. He wished Akamaru, his dog, was nearby; maybe he could eat it.

He looked over his shoulder again to see Naruto eating his ham breakfast sandwich. A knot formed in his throat as he felt saliva pooling in his mouth.

Naruto turned to his right as he was about to take a bite and saw Kiba frozen in place, his mouth hanging open. He returned the sandwich to the table and put his hand in front of Kiba's face to jolt him awake. "Kiba, you there?"

Kiba's head shook. "Huh? Oh, oh, yeah..." He mumbled, not taking his eyes off of Naruto's sandwich.

Naruto followed Kiba's line of sight and pursed his lips, protectively clutching his sandwich. "Don't try anything!"

Kiba's mouth hung open. "As if! Why would I want that nasty stuff!" He sighed and averted his eyes.

Naruto cocked his head. "All right, then... I was going to share it with you, but because you don't like it, I'm not going to." He shrugged his shoulders.

Kiba frowned as he watched Naruto eat it out of the corner of his eye. Oh, how he wished he could have the delectable ham breakfast sandwich.

As Naruto was finishing his last bites, Kiba's gaze was drawn to the sandwich. The last few bites... He'd never know what the taste of the sandwich was like... If he didn't do something right now, he was going to die without knowing how it tasted...
