"Fuck, they're gone." The man mumbled before he walked away. Both boys were shaking, not daring to move a single muscle.

Once they were sure the man was gone they sighed. They felt sick to their stomachs from all the panic and running they had experienced in such a short period of time.

Kiba didn't waste much time in fleeing. The odor was unbearable. He flung the lid open and extended his hand for Naruto to grip onto so they could both jump out. Naruto eagerly accepted Kiba's hand and hurried out.

Naruto scrunched up his nose in disgust as he smelt himself. "We smell like shit."

Kiba snorted. "At the very least, we're not dead. Anyway, we should wait a few minutes before leaving in case the guy is still near." He said as he sat against one of the walls.

Naruto sat next to him, his knees rising as he rested his head on them. "My life sucks." He muttered to himself. First his fight with Sasuke and now getting chased by some random gang member. He had tried everything he could to keep the fight he had with Sasuke out of his mind, but he just couldn't. He was one of the few people to whom he had revealed some of his depression to. Why would he open up to his rival though? He felt stupid. They weren't even 'friends' for long.

"Naruto? You okay?" Kiba asked. He noticed a glint in Naruto's eyes that showed how truly upset he was. He couldn't get this upset over getting chased. Scared maybe, but not sad. "What's wrong?" He asked again, hoping to get a response from the blond.

Naruto shifted his gaze to Kiba. He sighed, uncertain about what he should do. He'd be easily found out if he lied to Kiba because he wasn't the best liar. He might be able to get some helpful advice from him if he told him the truth, though. Naruto grinned briefly before telling the brunette. "Promise not to tease me."

Kiba's brows furrowed. What did Naruto do that made him this embarrassed to tell him? "I will keep my word. But if I can't stop myself from laughing, it's fair game because you do the most ridiculous things— Ah!" He screamed as he was smacked by the blond, who was now giggling making him smile.

When their laughter subsided, they both became serious and returned to their original subject. "What exactly did you do?" Kiba asked, his stomach churning from all the laughter.

Naruto shifted his gaze from Kiba to the cement floor underneath them. "Like always, I got ahead of myself and I thought I would be able to... become friends with Sasuke." He finished with a soft, forced chuckle.

Kiba was taken aback and gasped under his breath. He wasn't sure what he was expecting, but it certainly wasn't that. "The fucking Uchiha?" He couldn't decide whether to laugh or be angry as he asked in shock.

Naruto's lips were pursed. "I know, I was being a complete moron!" He moaned and slammed his head against his knees.

Kiba felt sorry for the blond and decided against scolding him. "It's fine,"

Naruto shook his head in frustration. "It isn't!" He whined, his hands covering his face in shame. "What if he tells people at school about what I told him?!"

Kiba's mouth slightly opened in disbelief. "What do you mean? What did you tell him?" He asked. He knew practically everything about Naruto, right?

Naruto lifted his face from the palm of his hands, his eyes fixed on the floor as he started to fiddle with his hands. "I-I rather not say.."

"I know everything there is to know about you. What could he possibly know that I don't?" Kiba hesitantly asked, attempting to contain his anger. After being supposed friends for two fucking days, Naruto certainly didn't tell Sasuke instead of him, right?

Before biting on his bottom lip, Naruto licked his dry lips. He shook his head, saying, "Kiba, it's not what you think." "It's just... I thought since he—"

Kiba pushed himself up from the dirty concrete floor, looking at Naruto angrily. "You told Sasuke something before me?! For years, I've known you! You know him for what? Two days and you open up to him! Is it possible that I'm being mean to you or am I just too stupid to comprehend things?!"

Naruto was startled by the outburst. Kiba's mood surprised him. He had no idea he had upset him to such an extent. "That's not the case! You're my closest friend—"

Kiba jumped in once more. "Well it doesn't fucking seem like it!" He screamed as he walked away from the blond.

Naruto followed Kiba, attempting to justify himself, but nothing he said seemed to register with the brunette. "Listen to m—"

"Oh crap, Kiba, Naruto!" The sudden sound of someone calling for them caused Naruto's mouth to close. Kiba came to a halt and turned over. They hadn't known they'd arrived at the park until now. Neji drew closer to the two, raising an eyebrow. "What the fuck? Y'all smell like absolute shit."

When Naruto and Kiba relayed that they had been in a dumpster, their faces darkened into a deep crimson. "I knew you were a loser, Naruto, but you, Kiba?" Neji chuckled and smirked at the two.

"Neji, why don't you fuck off." Naruto swore. On the worst of days, like right now, Neji would have to be a dick to him.

"I'm only teasing." Neji rolled his eyes. "Me and Sasuke wanted people to play soccer against, so I approached you two to ask. I wasn't aware you two would smell and look like you just crawled out of a dumpster."

Naruto's expression darkened at the mention of Sasuke. "We aren't playing with you, Neji, so get out of here."

"You two are no fun, after all." He said, impassively. "I didn't want to have to resort to this, but I don't have any other options." He said before bending down and placing his head next to Naruto's ear, ensuring that only Naruto could hear his next words. "If you don't want me to tell everyone about how you can't swim for shit, I suggest you two join us."

Naruto's pupils dilated as he stiffened. How did Neji figure it out? If he agreed, he'd have to be around Sasuke, which would be uncomfortable, particularly after their heated discussion. If he didn't agree, on the other hand, he'd tell everyone he couldn't swim. That wasn't too bad, was it? It was to Naruto. It was a source of embarrassment and insecurity for him. He had no one to teach him because he never had a mother or father as a kid. He was afraid of drowning, so he couldn't teach himself. He could have approached Jiraiya, but he was too young and ashamed back then to do so and now it was too late.

Neji remained steadfast in his stance. "Why would Sasuke voluntarily hold you on his back. Make no attempt to amuse me. He was clearly looking for a reward. You owe him a favor because he carried you due to your little flaw. It's self-evident."

That's when he realized it. Since the ride to the water park, Sasuke has enjoyed getting an advantage over Naruto. He most likely wanted more leverage, so he pretended to be friends with Naruto and waited for him to open up to him.

He walked straight into the pit he had set for him.
