I Don't Care

Earlier that day
Amber POV

"What do you need Amber?" Stephanie ask me leading me further away from everyone

"I need you to change our take match to two singles matches" I say "and I want to you wait until the last minute to swap mine and Randy's matches"

"Are you sure about this?" She asks "if you're right you could get hurt"

"I'm aware of that" I say "but as long as Randy's safe I don't care what happens to me"

"Alright but I'm not happy about this" she sighs

One week later

Waking up next to Randy and become a common occurance over the last week, he wanted me with him at all times, he had become just as scared as I was.

I hadn't told him about the plan I made with Stephanie becuase I knew he would never allow it to happen.

Getting out of bed I take a quick shower and get dressed, when I come out of the bathroom Randy is awake and half dressed.

"Good morning beautiful" he says walking over to me and taking me in his arms "how are you feeling today?"

"A little nervous but I'll be fine" I say and he gives me a quick kiss "what about you?"

"Same, but as long as I have you near I'll be fine" he smiles

"I won't be with you all the time, we're in singles matches remember" I say resting my head against his chest

"Yeah but you can stay near by" he says "I know I'm being over protective but I just need to know you're ok"

My heart sinks at his words knowing the plan for today and the fact that he has no idea that I'm likely not going to be ok.

"Come on we have run throughs to get to" I say ignoring the lump forming in my throat.

When we get to the arena we are greeted by Stephanie.

"Morning guys, your matches have been swapped around, Amber you will be on first" she says "is that ok?"

"Yeah fine" I say giving her a small nod which she returns before walking away

After getting changed Randy walks me to gorilla for my run through, he stops part way by the monitor and gives me a tight hug.

"I'll be right here ok" he says "you'll be fine"

I nod and pull him closer to me holding him like it could be the last time "I love you" I whisper before walking away and not giving him chance to respond.

My music hits and I walk out tentatively, every part of me1 shaking like a leaf, not knowing what is going to happen. As I step forward the piece of stage I step on doesn't feel right and before I can think it gives way and I fall through the whole landing on the floor below the stage.

As I fall I hear what I believe is Randy calling my name, I land flat on my back and when I try to move the pain is unbearable.

"AMBER!" Randy shouts "WHERE ARE YOU?"

"Randy I'm here" I call back as I here footsteps

"It's alright baby I'm here" he says appearing beside me "are you ok, are you hurt?"

"My back, I can't move" I say

"The medics are coming just stay still" he says holding my hand.

Randy POV

The second I saw her fall my heart was in my throat, I had run to help her but I didn't get there in time. I had realised something as it happened, she knew, she knew something was going to happen and that's why she said she loved me, becuase she wanted to make sure I knew.

"You knew didn't you?" I ask "you knew it was going to be you and not me"

"Yes, I asked Steph to swap our matches last minute" I say

"Why? Amber why would you do that?" I ask

"I already told you" she smiles

The medics arrive and start to move her onto a back board, I stay right there with her never leaving her side, as they start to slide her out from under the stage I follow never letting her out of my sight.

They put her in the ambulance and I get in with her

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you" she says reaching for my hand "but I knew you wouldn't let me do this"

"Damn straight I wouldn't" I say holding her hand "I wanted to keep you safe becuase I love you Amber"

"Yeah?" She smiles

"Yeah" I smile back

On arrival at the hospital they take her straight down to xray and after a certain point I have to leave her. I'm pacing around the waiting room when Jeff rushes through the door

"Is alright?" He asks

"I don't know, she's in xray" I say continuing to pace

"What the hell happened this time?" He ask

"Stage gave way, it had been tampered with" I say "it should have been me, it should be me in there"

"Hey calm down, nobody could have known this would happen" he says trying to reassure me

"She did and so did Steph" I say "Amber ask her to swap our matches last minute, she put herself in danger to save me"

"Family of Amber Hudson?" The doctor says as he enters the room

"I'm her boyfriend" I say walking over to him

"I'm sorry I can only discuss this with family" he says

"I'm her brother" Jeff says stepping forward

"Very well" he says "she's been very lucky, there's nothing broken but she is very bruised, she'll be out of action for a couple of weeks"

"Can we see her?" I ask

"Yes follow me" he says

We follow him down the hall to end cubical, we find Amber sat up and she smiles at us.

"Hey" she says

Jeff walks over and gives her a gentle hug "hey sis" he says and leans closer to her ear "just go with it and don't ever scare me like that again" he says quietly.

"You got lucky, it's just bruising" I say "but don't ever do that again, just like you don't want to lose me, I don't want to lose you"

"I kept you safe that's all that matters to me" she says

"And what good is me being safe if I don't have you" I say moving  her hair out of her face "I love you crazy girl"

"I love you too baby" she smiles and I give her a quick kiss

"I love you as well Amber but not in the way he does" Jeff chimes in making us both laugh
