Slip Up

Amber POV

"Ok Amber, Jess has told us that you were the one that took all the photos" the officer sits down

"Sure she did" I sigh "tell me how can I have taken them when I'm in them?"

"Maybe you used a selfie stick" he offers

"Are you serious?" I sigh "look at some of these a selfie stick doesn't stretch that far"

"What about this one?" He asks "your not in this one"

"Yes I am you just can't see me" I say

"And why would that be?" He asks

"Oh maybe becuase my boyfriend is built like a freaking mac truck and when I stand in front of him you can't see me when your behind him" I say "look you can see he's putting something on me"

"You need to calm down" he says "what is he putting on you?"

"This" I say lifitng the pendant up" he was giving me this, ask him, he'll tell you that's me, and while your at it search my stuff I don't own a camera"

"Very well, we will speak to Mr Orton" he says "in the meantime we'll keep you here"

"Sir Miss Hudson's lawyer has arrived" another officer says

"Let him in, you can speak with your lawyer while we talk to Mr Orton" he says

"Miss Hudson, I'm Carl Masters, I was hired by Mr Hardy to help you out" he says shaking my hand "your brother is very worried about you"

"I'm very worried about me" I sigh "how the hell do I prove she's lying?" I ask

"Well we can look through these photos" he says "see if there is something in them that proves you're innocent"

We go through each photo one by one, not finding anything until I take another look at the photo from the pier.

"Wait" I say looking at the photo "she had help but it wasn't me"

"Care to explain" my layer asks

"Jess is scared of water, terrified of it, so much so that she won't go on piers" I say "so if she didn't take the photo and I didn't, some one else did"

"Can you prove you didn't take it?" He asks

"Yes becuase I'm right there" I say pointing to it "I'm in front of Randy, and he'll tell them that"

"Miss Hudson I think we just found your get of jail free card" he smiles.

Randy POV

"Mr Orton?" The officer asks as he approaches

"Yeah thats me" I say turning to face him

"We'd like to ask you some questions if that's ok" he asks

"Sure right in here" I say leading him into the locker room

"Ok we need you to take a look at this photo" he asks " and tell me who you are putting the necklace on?"

"Of course that's Amber" I say "she's the one I'm putting the necklace on"

"Ok and did she have a camera with her that day?" He asks

"Other than the one on her phone no, and her phone never left her bag" I say

"Miss Spears alleges that Miss Hudson is the one that took all the photos" he explains "have you ever seen Miss Hudson with a camera?"

"No never" I say "wait she's saying Amber took this?" I ask

"That's correct" he says

"She never took any pictures that day" I say "and neither did Jess"

"What do you mean?" They ask

"I uh I briefly dated Miss Spears, I took her to that same pier, she refused point blank to go on it, she has a massive fear of water" I explain "so there is no way she took that photo"

"So then Miss Hudson had to have taken it" they say

"I can assure you she didn't" I say realisation washing over me "Man I'm a fucking idiot, Jess had help but it wasn't Amber"

Amber POV

"Ok Miss Hudson, Randy has confirmed it's you in the photo" the officer says "he's also provided another piece of information"

"Yeah I'm about to give one aswell" I say "I didn't take that picture and neither did Jess, there is no way she could have taken that photo she's afraid of water, she had help but it wasn't me"

"Funny Mr Orton said the exact same thing" he says "were you aware that he had dated Miss Spears"

"Yes I'm aware" I say "trust me it meant nothing"

"Ok Miss Hudson, you are free to go" he says "you and Mr Orton have more than proved you're not involved"

"Wait what about this other person?" I ask "are we safe?"

"Oh your safe, whoever it is only took photos" he says "Miss Spears' prints were all over the stuff that had been tampered with no one elses"

"Thank you" I say before leaving the room and heading out of the station. As I step outside I find Jeff waiting for me.

"Amber!" He gasps "have they let you go?"

"Yeah I'm free to go, she slipped up" I say "she had help but it wasn't me"

"Thank god I knew she was lying" he says "Randy on the other hand"

"Just helped me get out" I say "I think he knows he made a mistake"

"I don't understand" he says

"He confirmed I was in one of the photos and he realised the same thing I did" I explain

"Well it's up to you if you want to see him" he says

"I already do" I say nodding towards Randy running through the car park

"Amber!" He calls out "Amber I'm so sorry I should've known, I should've believed you"

"Yeah you should" I say "but you made up for your mistake"

"I did how?" He asks

"Well I wouldn't be standing here if it wasn't for you" I say "you helped prove my innocence"

"Do you think you can ever forgive me?" He asks

"That I can't answer right now" I say "I understand it did not look good, it was alot to get your head around, but you doubted me straight away, you doubted that I loved you after everything, after I saved your life twice, right now I don't want to be around you, so I suggest for now you leave me alone"
