Mine For A Moment

A Start

The next morning
Amber POV

I'm awoken from probably the worst nights sleep known to man by a knock at the door.
Randy had crashed with Jeff in his room and I was left alone, it wasn't how I had imagined I'd spend my first night back, especially after what had happened when Randy and I were reunited.

I had tossed and turned most of the night, the bed sheets and pillows smelt like him and so did the shirt I had pinched from his case before Jeff came to get his stuff.

Padding across the room I open the door to find a detective standing there, aware that I wasn't decent I make a failed attempt at pulling down the t shirt I'm wearing.

"Miss Hudson" he asks

"Yeah thats me" I say "I thought you were done with me"

"I just need to clear something up with you thats all" he says

Moving aside I let him in the room and then sit on the bed pulling the covers over me.

"So what do you need?" I ask

"Well we know you weren't involved but Miss Spears is claiming you were with her all day yesterday and not where you said you were" He said

"God damn that girl" I ask "ok at the start of the day I was on ranch in Texas which can be confirmed by Mr and Mrs Hickenbottm whom I stayed with" I explain "mid morning I was picked by Paul Levesque and brought back here, again he can confirm that, he left me here and I stayed her until he called me and then went to the arena"

"And what did you do while you were here?" He asks

"I.....do you really need to know that?" I ask

"We need to account for your movements" he says

"Oh my god" I say putting my hands over my face "Ok when I got here Mr Orton was in the room, we talked and then we had sex"

"And he can verify that?" He asks and I nod "one last thing, yesterday you referred to Mr Orton as your boyfriend today you don't"

"He is my boyfriend we're just having some issues" I say

"Ok Miss Hudson thats all I need thank you for your time" he says

I see the detective out and no sooner have I closed the door than my phone rings.

"WHAT!" I snap

"Well good morning to you to?" Steph laughs

"I'm sorry Steph I just don't seem to get a moments peace at the minute" I sigh

"It's fine, ok I want you to swing by the arena and see our doctor so he can assess your condition" she says "and then you can stop by my office to discuss it"

"Yeah sure I'll be right there" I say

Ending the call I have a quick shower and get dressed before heading off to the arena. When I reach the reception area I see Randy enter the hotel.

"Amber I was hoping we could talk" he says

"Sorry I don't have time" I say continuing to walk

"Where are you going" he asks

"Oh I don't know maybe to try and kill someone or whatever else you think I might be capable of" I say

"Amber I said I was sorry" he sighs

"Yeah but that doesn't make it hurt any less, I've got to go" I say leaving him standing there.

When I get to the arena the doctor is waiting for me, he shows me into the exam room and asks me to remove my top.

"Hmm extensive bruising" he says "Ok I want you to bend forward and stop when it gets too painful"

I do as he asks and suprise myself by how far I get before it hurts.

"Ok and the same thing backwards" he says as he watches me "Well you're healing quite well despite how it looks, I'd say another week and I should be able to clear you to compete"

"Thanks" I say as I put my top back on "any suggestions on how to make the bruising fade?" I ask

"Just time" he says "give it time and it will fade"

My next stop is Steph's office, when I get there she greets me with a gentle hug and motions for me to sit.

"So what did the doctor say?" She asks

"Oh another week and I should be able to compete" I say "I just hope the bruising isn't so obvious by then"

"We can always try and cover it with makeup" she smiles "and you and Randy how's things?"

"I'd rather not talk about it" I say

"That bad" she laughs "I hear he helped get you released though, so he's realised he was wrong"

"Yeah but he should never have doubted me in the first place" I say "I love him but forgiving him is a whole other kettle of fish"

"Just make sure you make him work for it" she smiles "I have no doubt he will"

Arriving back at the hotel, I head up to my room but when I get to door I can smell something, it's like a mixture of scented candles and food.

Opening the door I find the curtains closed and the room filled with flowers and lit candles, as I walk further into the room I find Randy stood by the table which has food laid out on it.

He gives me a nervous smile and I take one more look around the room.

"What is all this?" I ask

"It's me trying to say I'm sorry" he sighs "I got all your favourites, favourite flowers, candles and food, I know it doesn't come close to making up for what I did"

"No it doesn't but it's a start at least" I smile

"Amber I'm truly sorry and I'm going to do whatever it takes to make it up to you" he says "so will you have lunch with me?" He asks

"I will but that doesn't mean your forgiven" I say "wait a minute, this is why you came here isn't it? How did you know I'd be out?"

"I kinda asked Steph if she could find a way to get you out of here while I set it up" he says taking a seat

"So it's your fault I've had to be poked and prodded by a doctor" I ask sitting down with him

"Is that where she sent you?" He asks and I nod "yeah I guess it is my fault, what did he say?" He asks

"I'm out for at least another week" I say

"Well I'd still like to take care of you if you'll let me" he says

"Hmm let's see how lunch goes and I'll let you know" I smile
