|||EMILY'S POV|||
*ding ding ding*
My alarm goes off. It's 7:30. I don't start school for another hour-ish. I have time. I turn my phone on. "JESUS CHRIST OMF!" I yell as I realize my phone was on full brightness. This happens everyday; I really need to fix it. I get up and go downstairs to eat breakfast. I don't have a fancy family. Like my mom doesn't get up early to make me bacon. I just eat cereal. BUT HEY, i love it. I get out my Cocoa Pebbles and get the milk. I finished within ten minutes and went back upstairs to get ready. I put on a white, lace tank top, aqua shorts, and black Vans. It's October, and it's 80 degrees outside. I mean that's what you get when you live in Florida. I don't like warm weather. I can't hide my scars in tank tops and short-sleeve shirts. I walk to school since it's only five minutes away. "Bye mom, love you" I kissed my mom on her cheek and left for school.

"OH MY FUCK" I say to Laura, my best friend. I saw this guy, he had brown hair and these gorgeous blue eyes.
"I think I'm in love" I think I'm blushing.
"What?! Who are you looking at?" Jesus Christ! Can she be more blind?
"Right there." I say and point. I now it's rude but... OH WELL.
"He saw you" Laura laughs at me. I hope he doesn't think I'm a weirdo. I don't want to mess things up.

We walk past him. He's REALLY cute. I feel bad, though. He looks lost. I've never seen him before, so I guess he's new. He's a few inches taller than me, considering I'm 5'3. I walk down the hall and go to my homeroom. Then I hear my principle on the loudspeaker for morning announcements...

"We have three new students! Hayes Grier will be in 9th grade, in Mr. Nurkee's homeroom and his brother, Nash Grier, will be in 11th grade, in Mrs. Currell's homeroom. Another new student, Mathew Espinosa, will also be in 11th grade in Miss. Barrett's homeroom! And now, the lunch!"

JESUS CHRIST IM IN MR. NURKEE'S HOMEROOM! Hshbdbdhhsjsikd. I can't breathe. The hottest guy I've ever met will be in my homeroom. God obviously loves me. We'll be able to talk. And be friends. And maybe, one day, be his girlfriend... Wait, what am I thinking? For all I know, he could be a total asshole. But he's really cute. And "Hayes", what a cute name. I think he looks like a Hayes. He could look like an Albert for all I care. If he's hot af, he can pull off ANYTHING.

* Hayes walks in*

"Everyone, this is Hayes. He came from North Carolina. Would anyone like to volunteer to show him around and stay with him for the next few days?" Mr. Nurkee asks. I swear, all the girls were practically standing while raising their hands. I was in the back, not raising my hand. I didn't want him to think I liked him
"Emily, you can do it." He says. Like wtf? I didn't raise my hand. But I don't mind. We'll have a lot of time to talk and get to know each other. Boyfriend, here I come!

|||HAYES'S POV|||

..." Emily, you can do it." My new homeroom teacher says. She's really pretty and seems nice. Looks like she doesn't know who I am. I don't want a fan to be drooling all over me while I try to eat my lunch. I hope this goes well.

It's lunchtime and all the girls want to sit with me, but I say no one can. I'm not sitting alone, though. Emily's with me. She's been really helpful so far and we're kind of becoming friends. I'm kind of starting to like her. I mean why wouldn't I? She's perfect.

We're eating tacos and she eats them just like me. She breaks the taco shell in half and scoops the beef and cheese. I thought I was the only one. I didn't tell her, though. I didn't want her to think I was weird and that I liked her.

It is last period and Emily is still with me. I guess we have every class together. We're in social studies and Mrs. Lamina won't stop talking. It's been 20 minutes and she's still talking about her cats. Like I don't care. I'd actually prefer talking about genocide in Africa than hearing her babble on and on.

"No wonder she's single." Emily whispers. We both laugh.
"I know right?!" It's kind of awkward between us. I haven't known her for that long.

Class is finally over and me and Nash start walking home. We don't need a ride. We live 5 minutes away.

"How was your first day?" Nash asks me as we cross the street.
"Good,I met this new girl. She seems really nice so far. She's really pretty. I only want to go back tomorrow so then I can see her again." Nash laughs.
"What?" I say.
"Why don't you just ask her out or something. At least get her number." Nash acts like asking her for her number is so easy, well it's not. What if she doesn't like me. I'll completely embarrass myself.
"No." I say.
"Okay fine. Stay single" He laughs and I trip him. HA! Jokes on you bitch.
