I woke up to the sound of my text notification. I have a text from Cammy.
From Cammy: I'm breaking up with you.
Oh god. Oh wow. Oh... Um. I don't.... I... I can't.
My heart is beating fast. I'm sweating. I'm crying. I'm crying. Why? She... She was nothing. She didn't do anything for me. She barely made me happy. But, for some reason, I'm crying. I don't need to. Calm yourself. There's no reason to cry. No reason.
As I'm laying on my bed, I think about our time together. I realized, Nash was right. Cammy did change me. I decided to tell the person I hurt the most that I'm sorry. I quickly put on a black shirt, khaki shorts, and black Vans. I ran over to Emily's house and knocked on the door.
She opens it. Behind her, Nash is there. Why? Never mind that. I need to focus on Emily.
"Hi." She says shyly.
"Hey." I respond smiling. "I just wanted to say sorry for calling you a nobody the other day. I was being completely rude."
"It's fine." She fake laughs.
"So um... Do you wanna go watch a movie or something?"
"Oh thank you, but I can't, I'm going out with Nash."
"Oh you guys are dating?" I ask, hoping she'll say no.
"Yeah. We have been for a while-ish now." She lets out another fake laugh.
"Really, since when?"
"Thursday."
"Oh... Well, I, um... Gotta go."
"Bye." She smiles and closes the door.
Thursday. Thursday. This is all my fault. They're dating because of me. I'm such an idiot. I could've been with her.
