CHAPTER 9

|||EMILY'S POV|||

[8 days later]

"Em wake up! You're late!" My mom yells.

"No I'm not. It's only 7:00" I yell back.

"Emily its 7:43! Get up!" Ughhhh

I finally get up and realize it's Friday. YASSS! As always I go downstairs to eat breakfast. I didn't have time to eat my cocoa pebbles so I just ate some candy.

"Ma, how come you're home?" I ask confused.

"Oh I have a presentation in an hour and my boss said that I don't have to come to work until then. I haven't woken you up for more than 3 weeks. I miss that. I miss you. I might get a promotion, so that means even less time at home. Is that okay honey?"

"Yeah it's fine."

"Okay. Oh and dad is at work."

"I know."

"I just wanted to let you know. Go upstairs and get dressed!"

"K."

I run upstairs and put on a white, flowy shirt and tucked it in my black mid-thigh skirt, I put on my new white converse. I curled the ends of my hair and put some makeup on (mascara, foundation, lipgloss. The usual.)

"Love you!" I yell to my mom. There's a lot of yelling in my family.

"Love you too! Have fun!" She screamed with a grin on her face. How am I supposed to have fun?

I walk out the door and see Hayes sitting in his porch. He runs over to me.

"Hey" he says.

"Hi. Where's Nash?" I ask.

"Oh, he left already. I mean you are kinda late."

"Yeah. I know." I can't believe Nash didn't tell me he already left.

"I was waiting for you."

"Why?" Im kinda creeped out.

"Well I haven't talked to you in a while and... I didn't want you to walk alone." He starts to blush.

"Awe thanks. You know you're really sweet. I don't get why you don't have a girlfriend." I say.

"I'm just waiting for that special someone." He somewhat shrugs.

On the way there he was telling me jokes and I was dying laughing.

"You know sooner or later you and Nash will have winga winga ding dong." He says with a smirk.

"Oh my god Hayes!" I hit him in the arm. OH SHIT! OMF I just flirted with him. Oh no no no no no. I quickly walked away and yelled 'bye'.

School ended. Whoop whoop. WEEKEND HERE I COME!

"Hola!" Hayes screams and runs towards me. Awe crudge. (word I created meaning crap and fudge. So it really means shit and fuck)

"Hey, where's Nash?" Still, I don't want be near Hayes.

"He has to stay after school for some homework help. He told me to walk you to our house because y'all are gonna hang out."

"Oh yeah. How late will he be?" I ask.

"I don't know." He responded. For the next 5 minutes we didn't talk.

Hey yall! Again, I'm really sorry that I haven't updated in a while! I had state tests (MCAS) this week and last week and I didn't have time, energy, or brain capacity to write.
Something HUGE will happen in the next chapter😏
