It was Monday morning, but Taeyong had never reached out to Jennie to meet up again. She decided she'd let him reach out first, since he was the one who rushed out.
It kept Jennie up for a few more hours after the whole ideal. Her mind was drawing blanks, as she laid in bed that night. Did he forget to turn off the stove? If that were the case, he still would have told her. Nothing else came to mind. Then for the rest of the weekend, she had put the whole situation on the side, as she busied herself with homework, music, and Yuta.
Jennie played music from her laptop as she got ready for school. She smelled breakfast from below, as her mom usually made everyday. As she finished applying sunscreen, she got an email notification. She wiped her hands clean of the remaining residue, and went to click on the new email.
TALENT SHOWCASE UPDATE!
To all of the students who signed up for the talent showcase:
Members of our school board and officials from Cube Entertainment have been meeting with each other, and we are officially now holding an event in affiliation with Cube Entertainment.
Those who are scouted at Cube will be directly hired to work as an actor, backup dancer, or an idol trainee.
Some of our artists will be sitting in for the auditions, to put in their inputs and thoughts as well. This very may sway how each students' audition goes.
The date for the audition will stay the same, and will be held at the Cube Entertainment main building.
For any questions about this change, do not reply to this email, and contact the director of the talent showcase, Oh Seojun.
Best of luck, from all of us at Cube Entertainment.
Jennie gasped and held her mouth open the whole time while reading the email. Going to an actual, successful agency? It was scary enough, just doing the talent showcase alone. Being in front of some of her favorite artists almost made her want to scream into a pillow. What if she disappointed them? She glanced at the time, and quickly snapped out of her dilemma, and jogged down the stairs.
Irene and Rosé walked beside Jennie in the hallways, enjoying their breakfast muffins.
"Wow, that's exciting! You can maybe even talk to these idols!" Rosé exclaimed after reading the email off of Jennie's phone. Irene nodded in agreement with a huge smile on her face.
"It is very exciting... but at the same time it feels like I'm walking on thin ice. I just don't know if I'm cut out for this," she frowned.
"We all know you have something not a lot of people have. You can do so many things, and you're very good at all of them. You can sing very well, I know you don't rap a lot, but you have potential you don't know you have. You dance really good," Rosé rubbed her shoulder, trying to encourage her bestfriend. "Don't doubt yourself now. You know you were destined to go down this path."
Jennie felt a lot better, and let out a deep breath. "Thanks, Rosie."
"Anytime."
"Well, I suggest you tell Yuta about all of this. I think the sooner he knows, the better. He's going to find out eventually," Irene looked at her friend, and Jennie sighed. She knew she was right.
"I wonder how he'd react. Do you think he'll get upset? Angry?"
"Most likely upset. Regardless, you're doing this for you, and not for anyone else."
Rosé silently nodded.
"You're right. I'll tell him as soon as I can."
"So, are you and Taeyong going to practice more?" Irene asked, switching the conversation.
