Since Mrs. Nam's class was cancelled for the day, Jennie only saw glimpses of Taeyong in the hallway. He would finally smile, although briefly, while talking to his friends. Before Jennie could fully process him being there, he would disappear down the hall into his next class.
Jennie had hoped deep down that they had class that day, just so she would have the chance to see how Taeyong was doing personally. It'd be honestly really awkward, and possibly tense. Maybe things would work out itself? She'd never know, though.
Things were Yuta just weren't working out. He was smart, kind, handsome, and very family oriented. He was the ideal boyfriend. He was perfect in every way, for someone out there. Just not for Jennie.
I think it's time to call it quits. She thought to herself. She didn't want to deal with this over the phone, it was an in person conversation. She doesn't really see Yuta in the halls at school either, but this wasn't the place to do it.
They haven't been going out for very long, but she was still at a loss of what to say during breakups. It wasn't everyday that Jennie dated and broke up with boys. How would he react? How long would it take?
She also kept dwelling about the email from Cube. Being upset about it wouldn't change the fact that she got rejected, but she couldn't help it. Once she was upset about something, it took her longer than
most others to move on.She was worrying about too much at once. She felt like her head was about to explode. She looked at her phone and checked the time. There were only a few more hours left in the school day. She let out a tired sigh, and carried on to her next class.
Jennie skipped dinner later that night. She sat in front of her laptop, staring at her incomplete essay. She'd hope to accomplish more than one pathetic paragraph that night, so she had less things to worry about.
Spending so much time with someone who was now my "partner", I've learned that it isn't always rainbows and sunny days. If you don't have someone who shares a lot of common interests, it's bound to end in a disaster. It's always a lot of compromising, I've seen, to make your partner happy.
Thankfully, I've learned Taeyong shares an interest in music, which is a huge part of my life. He's even helped a lot with my recent persuit.
Jennie's fingers hovered over the keyboard. This wasn't something she had planned to write in the essay, yet it flowed with such ease. It makes sense, that it's very important to have strong common interests, and Yuta shared little to none with her.
Jennie glanced over to her tote bag, and reached out to grab it. She looked inside, rummaging through books, makeup, and various markers. She couldn't find her songbook.
"What the? Where did it go?"
Jennie stopped searching the bag, and froze.
She had left it at Cube.
She set her book in the practice room at the beginning of the audition, and was too overwhelmed to remember to grab it afterwards.
The last thing she wanted to do at that moment was to go back into that building. She'd feel humiliated, sad, and angry. It's not like she was the one and only person who got rejected, but, going back into that building, to witness the life she could've had being a trainee and potential future idol, it deeply upset her.
She had no choice but to walk back into that building and get back her book. She leaned back onto her chair, feeling frustrated. How had she forgotten her book? She grumbled to herself as she got ready to go outside.
Standing outside of Cube with her cardigan pulled closely, she hesitated. Would they have thrown it away? Or had someone stole it?
The answer was inside, so she reluctantly grabbed the door handle and entered. As she walked in the lobby, a loud voice was heard. She averted her attention to the commotion.
