"For the first assignment, each couple will have a 'day out' during the weekend and record it. You will be turning it in via email."
Great, Jennie's plans to lay around and watch Netflix all day went out the window.
"That'll be our first date." Taeyong whispered from next to her. "Technically."
Jennie shot him a look of disgust and confusion all wrapped in one. "It's not a date, it's for school. Nice try, though."
Dinner with him and Hayi was very... interesting. After food was ready, the four of them sat down and began talking. She avoided talking to Taeyong, which wasn't too hard since her mom asked hundreds of questions about Taeyong and his family.
She'd shot her mom glares throughout dinner and instead just conversated with Hayi most of the time.
"Thanks again for having me over for dinner," Hayi had said to Jennie, after finishing bagging a customer's items.
"Oh, yeah, it was fun. I hope we hang out more."
"Taeyong is a real... hyper person." Hayi commented.
"Hyper, annoying, the list goes on."
"He's not bad to be around with. At least for me."
"That's because he's not trying to annoy you every second of the day. Speaking of which, I have to spend a day with him. Like a date. Then vlog it like those youtubers on youtube." She leaned on the countertop, the feeling of dread in her chest was building up.
Rosè and Doyoung stopped by about an hour later. "How's your marriage going?" She asked right after she came from the outside. "By the way, this is Doyoung."
The two exchanged greetings. "What brings you two here?"
"We were just around the block, and decided to stop by."
"Oh, you two are doing that extra credit thing?"
"Yeah. It never hurts. But Doyoung and I are becoming great friends. We have a lot in common."
Jennie smiled at that. She and Rosè didn't have much guy friends, so it was nice she could make one that went so well with her personality.
"Oh! I forgot to tell you," Jennie started getting excited, leaning closer to Rosè. Doyoung wondered off towards the back, looking at their new shipments. "Yuta came by the other day."
Rosè lit up, opening her mouth in shock. "Really?" Jennie nodded, recalling the memory.
"Yes! We kind of talked for a bit before he left. He bought sweets that were imported from Japan."
Rosè was in awe. "After how long of crushing on him, it'll blossom soon."
Doyoung came back with a few candy bars and drinks, looking ready to devour them all. Rosè noticed this and laughed to herself. Hayi motioned for him to come to her counter. She scanned them, while making small talk with him.
"Where's your baby, then?" The thought had suddenly came in Jennie's mind.
"With my mom," Rosè answered. "I'm guessing yours is with Taeyong?"
Jennie nodded. "I wonder how he's coping."
"Why don't you text him?"
Doyoung thanked Hayi and went over to Rosè's side.
"I actually don't have his number."
"Why not? You're partners for the rest of the school year, it would be easier for you two to have contact information."
