"Is it true?" (Y/N) spoke up, breaking the awkward silence that filled the room. "Did you really try to say goodbye?"
Tord looked away, a small blush painting his cheeks pink. He lifted his head up to look at (Y/N) and Edd, who were staring at him, waiting for a response. Tord took a deep breath and began to speak.
"Yes, I did. I used up the time I needed to get to the city to try and find you because I cared about you," Tord said, trying to place a hand on (Y/N)'s arm, only for her to reluctantly pull away.
"I'm sorry. I... I just need some time to think about this,"
(Y/N) walked down the stairs to leave Edd and Tord to talk. The sudden silence made the boys feel awkward. Edd believed that Tord was still the same person he was when he left, but something seemed off to him.
"Hey, Tord," Edd turned around to face Tord, "I know you care a lot about (Y/N), but I think you might want to give her some space. Just for now,"
Edd gave Tord a comforting smile before walking downstairs to check up on (Y/N). Tord sat back down on the bed and ran a hand through his hair, gripping onto it and throwing his body onto the bed. His mind ran through a multitude of ideas on how he could make everything better.
"Why do I even care?" Tord yelled, gripping his hair tighter. He felt a growing pain as he pulled at his hair and immediately loosened his grip. "She's just another pawn in my game. Disposable, worthless, beautiful..."
Tord stopped his monologue, staring into space as he tried to process what had come out of his mouth. He had stood up during his monologue and decided to sit back down as he was thinking.
"...God, what is wrong with me?" Tord heard his phone ring and with a groan, he picked up the call. The voice on the other line shocked him out of his previous thoughts.
"Um, Red Leader, sir!" Tord placed his hand over his face. He mentally scolded himself for forgetting about his goal all because of a simple girl.
"Yes, soldier?" he responded, his tone harsh and stern.
"I just wanted to know about what my job was," Tord forgot about the few new recruits he had been training before his leave.
"Ask one of your higher-ups and don't bother me again!" He hung up the call, shoved his phone back in the pocket of his hoodie and stood up from the bed. "I need to focus on my goal. So, why is someone like (Y/N) able to ruin it?"
Tord walked downstairs to the living room to find Matt with (Y/N) on the couch and watching a movie. The two laughed and smiled at the antics of the people in the movie. Tord creeped over to the back of the couch and got a better look at the movie. It was a movie that starred Edd, Matt, a girl with blue hair and a shoe?
"Oh, it's Tord," Matt whispered and caught the attention of (Y/N). She looked behind her, the smile she had turning into a straight line. Tord gave a tilted smile, nervous about how this interaction would go. (Y/N) motioned Matt to leave and he reluctantly obliged, but not before giving Tord a weak smile.
(Y/N) turned her attention to Tord after Matt had left the living room. She invited him to sit down next to her, despite her hatred for him.
"Is there something you wanted to talk about?" (Y/N) said, her eyes fixated on the movie that was still running.
"Yeah, I know you're hurting and I wanted to-"
"Just, save the apologies. I forgive you,"
"Oh, well that was-"
"But I'm still mad at you. You didn't think it would be that easy, did you?"
"Aww, you sure? I think you might be bluffing,"
(Y/N) glared at the Norwegian, scaring him a bit. Tord shut his mouth and looked at the floor, feeling a hint of guilt. The two of them sat in an awkward silence as (Y/N) stared at the T.V. while Tord took quick glances at her.
"I'm sorry, I'm trying my best to fix what I've done and I really do hope you can forgive me," Tord whispered. He laid his head on the back of the couch with his hands intertwined and behind his head. He felt a weight lift from the couch and (Y/N) now stood over him. Her hair falling down in front of her and in Tord's eyes, she was upside down.
"Why don't you make it up to me," (Y/N) said, making Tord smile. She stepped back as Tord sprung up to his feet. He felt (Y/N) hold his hand and begin to drag him along with her as they left the house. He didn't pay attention to anyone but (Y/N). Her determined stare and slight frown made his face flush. The two walked for a few minutes before stopping in front of the building, a building all too familiar to Tord.
"What are we doing at a shooting range?" Tord asked as (Y/N) let go of his hand, allowing him to look around the building and walk around. Tord felt something poke his back and turned around to be faced with an AK-47 to his chest. He looked at the gun and up to (Y/N)'s eyes, a smile gracing her face as she offered the gun to him. Tord's lips twitched into a smirk as he snatched the AK from the girl's hand. The feeling of the cool metal on his hands giving him a bit of adrenaline.
(Y/N) had started to walk towards the shooting range, the boy right behind her and forcing himself to not run ahead and start shooting. The two reached the shooting range and started to get ready to shoot at their targets.
"If we have something in common," (Y/N) began, aiming at her target with her Glock before shooting and planting a solid head-shot, "Why not use it to fix what you broke?"
Tord looked up at (Y/N) in awe, the AK almost slipping out of his hand if it weren't for his quick reaction time. He cleared his throat as he aimed alongside (Y/N), who had shot a few more bullets while Tord had been staring. The two of them fired, not caring about where the bullets would land as they felt that shooting was a way to let out some of the stress or anger they held.
(Y/N) and Tord spent a few more hours at the shooting range, small conversations and laughs were shared between them as they ended their fun.
"You know, I missed this. Just... hanging out with you makes me feel so much better!" Tord said as he sighed, the tension between him and (Y/N) seeming to have faded. (Y/N) didn't want to admit it, but she liked the time she spent with the boy and wouldn't mind hanging out with him again.
"Yeah, it was... nice," The two walked in comfortable silence before having reached the front door of Edd's house. Tord stepped aside to let (Y/N) open the door to which she obliged. She stepped inside the house and was met with Tom, who had a scowl on his face. (Y/N) looked to her right, where Tom's glare was directed, to notice Tord. His lips were titled up in a cocky smirk that seemed to be mocking Tom.
"This can't end well," (Y/N) whispered to herself.
