"(Y/N), what are you doing with... him," Tom growled, pointing his finger at the Norwegian that stood next to (Y/N). Tord's smirk grew even more at Tom's fury.
"Relax, Thomas,"
"Don't use my full name, you commie!" Tord rolled his eyes as he continued to speak.
"I was just making up for lost time. That's all," Tom looked at (Y/N), waiting for confirmation and to his surprise, (Y/N) backed up Tord's claim.
Tom's mouth was slightly agape, he looked at Tord, who's smirk grew the more he noticed Tom's anger becoming internal. Tord knew Tom cared too much about (Y/N) to worry her about something like their rivalry, resulting in Tom backing down with a grunt.
(Y/N) watched as Tom stomped away with balled fists. She started to run towards the brunette, but she felt a hand pull her back and turn her around as she came face to face with Tord.
"Don't worry, (Y/N). Tom will get over this, let's hang out some more," Tord's smile seemed to turn into a sly smirk, "Y 'now, just the two of us,"
(Y/N) felt herself becoming real uncomfortable with Tord's implications. She slowly pulled her arm out of Tord's grip, which was starting to get tighter by the second. Tord eventually let the girl pull away, because as much as he wanted her to accept his offer, he secretly cared about (Y/N)'s feelings. The two stared into each other's eyes, one filled with fear as the other held a hint of mischief behind a kind façade.
"I'm sorry, but I don't think this is going to work out," Tord's eyes widened at the girl's words, he felt a sense of panic as he reached for the girl's shoulders, holding them in a tight grip. (Y/N) was pushed back a bit by the sudden force and was now staring at Tord's face, his brows tilted and his mouth agape as he spoke with a shaky voice.
"No, we can work this out! I promise, please just... just give me a chance to prove to you that we can get back to that," Tord gritted his teeth at the word he was about to say, "...friendship we used to share,"
(Y/N) sighed, she didn't want to believe that she was about to do something she knew was a bad choice. She placed her hands atop Tord's, grabbing them and pulling them off her shoulder, holding them with a gentle touch.
"Okay, I'll give you a chance, but if you mess this up. I have the right to never forgive you," Tord let out a sigh of relief as he thanked the girl before noticing someone standing behind the girl. He stood up straight, letting go of (Y/N)'s hand as he walked up to the figure.
"Edd! Old friend, how are you doing?" Edd was pulled into Tord's side with Tord's arm on his shoulder, Edd felt a tad uncomfortable, but he knew that Tord was just being friendly. The brunette turned his attention to (Y/N), who smiled brightly and ran towards Edd, enveloping him in a hug that caused Tord to stumble back and let go of Edd.
He watched the way (Y/N)'s eyes lit up at the sight of Edd or any of the others, the way she hugged them and smiled made him feel something that was completely new. Tord rolled his eyes when Edd wrapped his arms around (Y/N) and spun her around, making her laugh and wrap her arms around Edd before snuggling into his neck. Tord turned his head away from the two, his arm instinctively rubbing the other as he thought about what it would be like to take Edd's place in this exact moment.
Edd let the girl down, not once letting go of her as he spoke. "Oh, (Y/N)! I'm so glad you're back! I was looking all over for you. I called your phone so many times. You had me worried!"
(Y/N) laughed at Edd's mother-like nature before taking out her phone and pressing on the power button. Nothing happened and Edd got the hint, he pushed his worry aside to focus on someone else. Edd noticed that Tord had been very quiet and his habit of rubbing his arm was all too familiar of a sign for Edd to know the boy had a lot on his mind.
"Hey, um, Tord," said boy's ears perked up as he heard his name being mentioned. Tord turned his head up to look at Edd, who's smile never faltered, "Can we talk in the kitchen? Oh, I hope you don't mind, (Y/N),"
The girl shook her head at the question as the two boys walked to the kitchen, leaving (Y/N) to wonder how the conversation would go. By now, the boys had taken a seat, both of them felt the awkward tension and they were desperate to break it.
"Hey, Tord. Is there something you want to talk about?"
Tord looked up at Edd before looking down at the table and fidgeting with his hands. He knew that he was getting off track, but he wanted so badly to have his 'friends' trust him. So, why does he have to lie to someone he knows that has his best interests in mind?
"I," Tord began as he looked at Edd, "I have this feeling whenever I'm around (Y/N) and it's weirding me out,"
Edd put a finger to his chin as he thought up a good response to Tord's problem. "Can you describe it to me?"
"Well, my heart starts beating faster, I feel nervous whenever she's around and my face gets hot at random times,"
Edd's eyes widened as he covered his mouth, stifling the laugh that threatened to come out. Tord glared at Edd, his cheeks glowing red from the embarrassment of being laughed at. "What's so funny?"
Edd finally gave up and let out a loud laugh, shocking Tord and causing him to slump down into his seat. The brunette dried the tears that fell from his laughing fit and slowed his breathing by taking deep breaths before talking.
"You're the supposed "dirty-minded" one of the group, but you can't even notice when you're in love! It's hilarious!" Tord felt his whole face go red, not only because of Edd, who had stopped his laughing, small giggles slipping out now and then, but also because he didn't plan on falling for someone. This wasn't how it was supposed to go!
"Heh, yeah! Classic, stupid, me," Tord whispered the last few words, slumping into the chair even more as he held his head in his hand. In hopes that these feelings he felt for the girl would fade away. Unfortunately, they didn't because the more he thought of (Y/N), the more he felt himself fall for her. Tord let out a groan as Edd laughed again before placing a hand on Tord's shoulder. The Norwegian raised his head up and stared at Edd with a lifted brow.
"If it makes you feel better, I'll help you!" Tord rolled his eyes as he stood up from the chair.
"Help me how?"
"Well, what if I help you two get closer together again? Of course, I'll have to keep this a secret from Tom, but I'm willing to take the risk," Edd said with a sly tone. Tord rolled his eyes at Edd's usual recklessness as he noticed that Edd had held his hand out. A smile formed on Tord's face as the two shook hands on the promise. "Well, why don't we get started right now?"
"What do you have in mind?" Tord asked as Edd's smirk grew, a glint of mischief in his eyes as the brunette walked off with a cola in hand, leaving a very worried Tord to freak out about what's to come.
