(Y/N) and Tom sang a few songs, the two of them ended with one last song, just like usual. "You sounded awful,"
Tom joked as (Y/N) pushed the boy off his own bed. Tom laughed, standing up before booping the girl's nose.
(Y/N) gave a pout causing Tom to chuckle a bit at the girl's childish behavior.
"Same time next Wednesday?" (Y/N) nodded before jumping off of Tom's bed and waving goodbye as she made her way downstairs to try and find Tord.
She bumped into Edd, almost falling if it weren't for the clad in green grabbing ahold of her hand in time. Edd smiled, helping the girl regain her balance, but that smile disappeared at the sight of her worried face.
"Looking for Tord?" Edd guessed, receiving a nod in response. "Last time I saw him he went outside,"
(Y/N) thanked Edd for the information as she sprinted outside, spotting Tord sitting on the sidewalk. She noticed smoke coming from his direction the closer she got to his figure. Once she reached him, she noticed Tord was smoking a cigar. (Y/N) sat next to Tord as he flinched, keeping his eyes ahead.
"Is something bothering you, Tord?" (Y/N) whispered, hoping Tord would respond, though she didn't keep her hopes up as she knew Tord would most likely ignore her.
Unfortunately for her, Tord kept his mouth shut, keeping his attention to the ground. (Y/N) waited a few more minutes before trying her luck once more. "Please, if something is bothering, I want to help you,"
Tord let out a grunt, continuing his smoking with a frustrated expression. He wanted to tell her everything that had happened in the years he had left, but he wasn't going to risk straining his relationship with the group any further. The only option he had now was to lie.
"It's nothing, don't worry your pretty little head about it," Tord said, attempting to be flirty to convince (Y/N) he was alright. (Y/N) had a suspicion that Tord was going through something right now, but if he didn't want her to find out what it is, she wouldn't press any further.
(Y/N) stood up to leave, but not before giving Tord a comforting hug and to her surprise, the boy didn't hug back. He instead waited for the girl to let go of him and once she did, he went back to his thoughts, letting them consume him like the smoke that came out of his cigar. As (Y/N) left, he thought back to what he had to do. "(Y/N) seems happy with them. I can't just barge in and ruin that,"
"But, I have to keep this up, just long enough for no one to grow suspicious of my whereabouts,"
Tord stood up from the curb, putting out his cigar and walking inside the house. He noticed the silence that filled the house, he assumed everyone went to bed by now, easing his mind a bit as he headed up to the attic. He noticed Matt sleeping soundly on his bed, soft snores emitting from the ginger as Tord climbed into bed, pulling the covers over himself. He looked up at the roof, thinking back to (Y/N) and the Red Army as well as his decision before trying his best to rest.
Tord felt his sleep being disturbed by a certain guy, who was exclaiming that breakfast was ready. Tord sat up in his bed, rubbing his eyes from sleep before adjusting his vision to see Matt in front of him. "Alright, alright, I'm up,"
Matt told him to get dressed as Edd had made breakfast, before heading down stairs to eat. Tord groaned as he got off his bed and headed to the bathroom. He took a brush and began to run it through his tangled brown hair. Once it was smooth enough, he gelled it up in their usual horns, just enough to keep it up and have it also be fluffy. He noticed the bags under his eyes, his thoughts not letting him sleep a wink. After he splashed some water in his face and got dressed, Tord made his way to the kitchen, where everyone was seated.
"Morning, Tord!" (Y/N) and Edd said as Tom and Matt continued eating, only saying quick 'Morning's. Tord took a seat between Tom and Edd, surprising everyone as he would always sit next to (Y/N), who was a bit hurt by his actions. Tord tried his best to brush off the stares as he began to eat his breakfast.
The table was usually very lively, but today the mood was dampened a bit and caused everyone to not feel as talkative. They still talked about how they slept, dreams they had and if they're looking forward to their day. Tom was heading to work along with Matt as Edd worked at home as well as (Y/N). Tord stayed at home with Edd and (Y/N) as he didn't want to go back to the army without having completed his mission as he had promised.
"Thanks for the breakfast, Edd," (Y/N) said, wanting to go to her room as the tension between her and Tord was too much for her to bear. Edd told her it was 'no problem' as she left, making Tord feel a bit of regret, but he continued to ignore (Y/N).
"Did you two fight?" Edd muttered to Tord in hopes that Tom wouldn't hear as he knew the blue-hooded man would be furious if he figured out Tord was behind (Y/N)'s glum mood.
"Well, no. I'm just avoiding her,"
"You're what?!" Edd kept his voice in a hushed tone, though his shock was still evident. "Why would you be doing that?"
"I... don't really know myself,"
"Well, go up there and apologize. You're the only one who can change this situation around before it ends up in ruins,"
Tord looked down at his empty plate, he pushed it away from him as he stood up from his chair. He was going to take Edd's advice, but it could only help him so much as in the long run, he knew he couldn't keep this 'friendship' afloat.
Going along with what Edd said, Tord made his way to (Y/N)'s room and gave the door a few knocks. The door cracked open and was about to be slammed shut if it weren't for the fact Tord had wedged his foot in the crack to prevent (Y/N) from closing the door. "Can I come in?"
"I don't have any other choice, do I?" (Y/N) opened the door wide open, allowing Tord to step into her room as he sat on the bed.
"I'm sorry for avoiding you. It's just... I'm scared of losing you again. What if I'm making a mistake," (Y/N) listened to Tord's rant with intense focus, "What if I'm only going to hurt you again,"
Tord clenched his fists, grabbing onto his pants, his eyes watering as he poured his heart out to her. His words were nothing but the truth, yet he still didn't feel at ease, his thoughts still haunted him.
"I trust you, even if you think that you'll hurt me again. I want you to know that I see good in you. I know you're a good person, but if you do hurt me again, I have no choice but to let you go," (Y/N) said, her tone soft and hushed.
Tord couldn't help it, he wrapped his arms around (Y/N), tears streaming down his face as (Y/N) hugged him back. She pet his hair and gave him comforting words. Her embrace helped Tord relax and his constant negative flow of thoughts came to a halt, allowing him to fall into a deep slumber. Tord's breathing steadied and his soft snores could be heard, (Y/N) laid the sleeping boy on her bed and pulled the covers over his body. She left the room, but not before giving Tord a soft forehead kiss, causing him to smile in his sleep and snuggle into the blanket.
(Y/N) walked out of the room, content to have been able to let Tord confide in her. She knew Tord had a rough time turning his thoughts into words, but she always enjoyed helping him get his mind at ease after letting out the thoughts he had been bottling up. (Y/N) could sense that Tord had some more thoughts and feelings he was bottling up, but she wouldn't push any further and would rather let Tord tell her in his own time.
Unknown to her, that that time wouldn't be anytime soon as those thoughts would have to be revealed by force.
