Have you ever felt smaller than what you actually are? Cause standing at 5 foot I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be growing much now since I just turned 21 a couple of months ago. The thing is us short people don't have much to protect ourselves with. we're not intimidating we're just seen as cute. Pretty annoying right? Well I decided that I had enough of being called cute. So I'm currently standing in front of the store that frightens me the most. With a heavy sigh I march right passed the sign that read ' SPENCERS'.

" welcome to Spencer's! Let me know if you need anything okay?" a tall beautiful lady said behind the register.

I sent her a timid smile and walked on, not knowing what I was looking for I headed straight to the back because I thought it would be the most comfortable option. Frozen in terror as I looked at the walls. I was wrong. I was so wrong. Looking at the walls and feeling like the boxes and bags of sex toys were mocking me, I ran out of the store like the devil was on my heels. Rushing down the streets to get away from that place I knew one place I felt safe, my bakery. Not watching where I was going the next thing I knew I smashed into a brick wall and seen cold gray eyes staring into my soul my mouth hit the floor this man was a god. He was gorgeous.

" jesus Christ kid watch it. what even are you?"he stared at me and I opened my fat ass mouth

" my next daddy I hope." He glared into my soul as I just registered what I just said

" oh fuck my biscuit, SORRY DADDY GOTTA BLAST" as i run past him and into my bakery.

Diving behind the counter to see if the mountain god had followed. Seeing that I was clear I then proceeded to crawl to the back. Making my way slowly towards the back I see the office door opening.

" What are you doing kid?" a deep gruff voice said from above me.

A slow whine escapes my mouth as look up at my best friend kale. " trying to escape death if you don't mind now move ocean food."

He lets out a deep bellow laugh as he picks me up off the floor " kid what happened?"

Narrowing my eyes at the door as the said mountain god walked through. " im gonna die kale put me down please."

He slowly puts me back on my feet , I quickly scramble behind kale and peak out. Slightly terrified because of the two muscle giants glaring at each other. Without warning a dough ball flies past us. SMACK. We all watch as it splats on the ground as it rolled down the window. A deathly silence fills the bakery as we all look at the short blonde freckled girl who glared at the giants.

" Stop scaring the poor baby with your ego dominance, or next time it will be the face."

An unattractive snort pushes out my mouth as I laugh

" MADI THAT WAS GREAT"

She sends a big smile and goes back to the oven to pull out the buns.

" trust me next time it wont be a dough ball"

A snarl rips through the bakery as the beast slams his hands down on the counter. " You think you're funny? "

I spun around and jabbed my finger in his chest " LISTEN HERE YOU OVER GROWN HONEY BUN, YOU WILL NOT COME INTO MY BAKERY AND GET PISSY FROM MADI PROTECTING ME FROM ORGERS LIKE YOU. SO YOU'RE GONNA TAKE YOUR BIG ASS AND WALK OUT OF MY STORE BEFORE THIS GIANT OCEAN VEGETABLE THROWS YOU OUT"

A silent moment of shock goes through all of us as he walks out without saying a word. I release a breath before wheezing as I'm being smooshed against two bodies.

" guys I cant breathe please." We all laugh as Madi pats my head

" you did good Lyre." A smile is plastered on my face for the rest of the day.

~ time skip to 8pm~

" okay get your asses out of my shop" I state as i walk to the front where those two are cleaning up.

" you wanna walk home with us ly?" maddi asks softly.

I smile softly " yeah that's fine"

As im locking up we turn to walk down the street as we passed a shop with a tv playing the news " earlier today we lost 3 people. officers believe it was the mafia known as the crimson moon. As you can see behind me it was tragic loss for many, when will we be safe? more updates later. Back to you jerry."

I scoff " how can someone take a life so easily? "

we walk hurriedly down the empty streets " maybe they weren't good people ly" kale said softly.

Frowning as i face him " so death is the answer? They had families kale that isn't fair, that's like saying if i was one of those people"

He snatches my arm in his hand as he glares down at me " I would never let anything happen to you two. you two are all i got right now."

Madi frowns " guys we need to go home we'll talk about this there, i fell like we're being watched."

We all take off running towards kales house, as we reach the said house i wonder how he affords this giant house as we pass through the iron gates. Silently closing the door behind me i rush up the stairs not wanting to talk about the subject anymore. I slammed my door shut as i go to take a shower, getting dressed i finally fall asleep thinking about those cold steel gray eyes.
