Soul Mate AU Part 3/5 [NL]

It had been almost an entire year since it had been confirmed that Shyla and Shoto were soul mates, it had also been an entire year since Shyla denied him of any choices that he'd have to make for her. He hadn't gotten anything for her since his body had completely shut down at the cemetery. He had felt very depressed over the fact that Shyla wouldn't even let him speak to her anymore. He know he fucked up-but she wouldn't let him make it up to her.  

He tried to do something for white day only for her to shove it back into his own locker and any time after that-it was like she knew that he was trying to get her to forgive him. But she wasn't having it. He didn't know what to do-it wasn't until he had been approached by one of their classmates, Midoriya that he even spoke up about what was going on. 

"Hey Todoroki, are you and Shyla okay? I've noticed that you two haven't spoken with one another since February." Midoriya asked concerned

Shoto shook his head. "No...Shyla and I are soul mates and instead of spending time with her on her birthday I spent time with you, Iida and Ururaka. I've been trying to get her to speak to me or at least forgive me for what I've done wrong, but she refuses to take anything I do to have her forgive me."

"Wait shyla's already sixteen? When was her birthday?" Midoriya asked as he sat across from Shoto

"Her birthday is valentines day. She already hated her birthday because her parents had been killed that day years ago. I was the only one who knew about it, and I had comforted her about the death of her parents...but this past year, it escaped me. I didn't think to do anything for her for her birthday like I usually would do." Shoto said sadly

"Does she have any siblings Todoroki?"

"Yeah, an elder twin brother and a younger sister. Neither one of them care for her since she 'different' from them."

Midoriya looked at him confused. "What do you mean by that?"

Shoto sighed out and shut the book he was writing in. "Shy has medical conditions, where they don't have any. It's because of her medical conditions that her brother kicked her out of where she lived with her family. She lives with a mutual friend of her and I's when we were in middle school that lived alone for a long period of time."

"That'll explain it..."Midoirya said sadly 

"Explain what?" Shoto asked confused

"Um...earlier...Ashido went into the girls bathroom and uh...s-she found Shyla on the ground with blood coming from her arm. She's in the nurses office right now unconscious."

Shoto didn't say another word as he went to the nurses office, he saw that shyla was on one of the medical beds and he sat beside her and held onto her hand that wasn't completely wrapped up. "Shy...why can't you just talk to me? Have we really gotten to the point of you not even wanting to speak to me anymore?" He said as he was on the verge of tears. "What do I have to do to show you that I love you...that I care for you?" 

He got silence which he figured he'd get anyways, he didn't leave her side the entire time that she was unconscious. When she became conscious, she heard someone crying beside her and opened her eyes only to see that Shoto was beside her and he was holding onto her left hand tightly as he was crying. She didn't understand why he was upset about her harming herself-he didn't seem to care about talking with her for the last eight months so why was he crying over her? 

"Shy....I love you so much. I'm sorry...I'm so sorry for forgetting about your birthday and the trauma you went through. It wasn't my intention to go against the tradition that I had with you. I never wanted to have you been in this type of shape. You mean so damn much to me, I want to be your soul mate. I want to be the man that loves you for all your flaws and perks, for all your odd ways that no one else will ever understand. I just need you to give me another chance."

For the first time in a long while she had a choice to make for Shoto, which she thought she had gotten rid of. 

Chose for your soul mate to do next, kiss on the lips or leave and never return.

Her heart hurt seeing the choices she had to make, she chose for him to kiss her on the lips-she never wanted him to leave her and never return. She wanted him to stay at her side-but only if he was willing to love her for who she was. And it seemed like now he could and would. She soon felt his lips against hers which made her happy, she kissed him back as she held onto his hand tightly as a few stray tears came down her face. 

When he pulled away from her she opened her eyes having her duo eyes look at his. "Shy...I love you so much."

"Shoto, will you stay by my side forever no matter what? As my soul mate and best friend?"

He gave her a sincere smile before he nodded his head. "Yes of course, as long as you're willing to do the same for me Shyla."

"I...I do. I want to stay at your side, as your soul mate and best friend...I...I don't want to be alone anymore Shoto."

He pulled her up and he hugged her tightly, she hugged him back as she sobbed out against his chest. "Shoto...it hurts being all alone. Yu doesn't talk to me anymore...it's like I'm living with a stranger now."

"It's okay, now that we've accepted one another one thing that I was told was that the female has no other choice but to live with the male. So now that we're together-guess where you're going to be living baby."

She looked up at him and smiled before she kissed him on the lips as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Thank goodness, I won't be alone anymore...I'll be somewhere familiar with someone I love so dearly."
