Saddie Hawkins

Tina had convinced Blaine to host a Saddie Hawkins dance. I don't know how she did it, because the last Saddie's dace he went to all hell broke loose. Our father and brother thought it was the funniest thing they have ever seen, and that hurt Blaine even more. We got through it together like we always do, but he still had the trauma from it.

Finn thought it would be a good idea for the girls to sing songs to the guys they wanted to ask. I assumed everyone would know that Jake and I would go together,  but I immediately thought of the song I was going to sing to him. Marley and I had just watched the twilight saga on Saturday night so the song was fresh in my head.

"So who are you gonna sing to?" Marley asked me with a laugh.

Before I could answer Sophia butted in, "she's gonna sing to her fancy boyfriend. I think I'm going to ask Finn."

"Umm I love you Sophie-Lu, but I think he's a little old for you? Like he's an adult and you are a child so maybe don't? You should ask a freshman to go with you." I told her, "are you asking Ryder, Marls?"

She nodded, "yeah, I don't know what I'm singing yet, but it should be fine."

Marley could come up with a song on the fly, so could Blaine and Jake. I could but that was too far out of my control so I tried to plan them out at least the night before.

Jake pulled me into his lap and kissed my cheek, "am I gonna have to fist fight someone to go to the dance with you? I'll do it. I can take them."

I giggles, leaning my head back so I could kiss him, "mhmm fist fighting lotsa people."

Jake had gotten into quite a few fights, but the number died down a lot after we got together. Now they are only if someone says something about me, him, Blaine, his mom, Marley, or Sophia. He was protective of his people and didn't want to see us get hurt.

Finn cleared his throat and stood up from his chair, "if anyone has a song they can sing it now. I kinda didn't plan anything so this works."

Tina stood up right away and started singing I Don't Know How to Love Him. When she finished the song she asked Blaine to go to the dance with her. Blaine looked shocked, and Sam looked sad.

Blaine thought for a second stumbling over his words, "Um... Tina, no," he said with a smile to try and soften the blow.

When Blaine said this, Tina's face fell. I looked over at Sam and he was hiding a smile.

"Oh Kay.... anyone else? Please?" Finn asked, not wanting to end the love songs on that note.

I could do it. I planned it a little while ago and Jake would say yes, I stood up and began singing A Thousand Years. To my surprise, Jake started to finish the song with me. When the song ended, he lifted me into the air and spun.

"Yes please," he said, setting me down and kissing me. "I love you," his smile was huge, he was smiling his smile that made my heart skip two beats every time he smiled it.

"Okay love birds we get it," Sam laughed. "I know that I'm not a girl but I have a song." He stood up and walked to the front of the room. He began singing, Thinkin Bout You. He looked over at Blaine and asked, "Blaine, will you go to the dance with me?"

I slapped my hand over my mouth. Blaine had been talking about his crush on Sam for months. "Go go say yes!" I yelled.

"Mhmm yep. Yeps. I would like to do that please. Ha! Yes." Blaine said, stumbling over his words.

Dance

Marley and I had our dresses, on. Marls was wearing a knee length dress that was silver on the top and navy blue on the bottom. I was wearing a burgundy lacy dress that also came down to my knees, paired with my butterfly necklace and gold earrings. Blaine was wearing a black suit with a baby blue bow tie. Sam was matching his tie color with a regular tie. Jake and Ryder had suits on with ties that matched our dresses.

After we ate dinner I pulled on Jake's tie, "I can use this to hold if I get lost," I laughed.

He kissed me softly on my head, then my nose, then my lips. "I'm not letting you get lost because I love you way too much"

We danced and it was perfect. Literally the definition of perfect. Somehow Finn convinced our little group to sing A Thousand Years for the dance. Jake said it was for representation, and he probably wasn't wrong. Whatever the reason, Marley, Blaine and I sung with Ryder, Sam, and Jake. It sounded good because our voices blend so well.

Towards the middle of the night I moved to the table, deciding that it was best to use my wheelchair for the rest of the night. My legs were sore and I could feel myself getting wobbly. Jake followed me to the table and sat down, helping Blaine rub my legs for a few minutes before transferring me to my chair.

Jake spun me around in my chair while we danced together, and my friends all circled around me when it was a faster group dance. For the last slow song I stood up, I knew that I saved enough energy for this moment. We kept my chair close just in case while we swayed softly back and forth. I looked into his eyes and smiled as we danced.

Marley was staying the night at my house that night so when we all went home Jake stood by his car waiting to leave. I leaned on him, kissing his arm every now and then. We had so much fun I didn't want him to leave. It's crazy but I missed him, I knew I would miss him.

He kissed the side of my head then pulled me into his chest, "I will see you in the morning beautiful, I love you baby girl."

My eyes teared up and I softly kissed his nose, "I love you so much Handsome."

He kissed me one last time before passing me to Marley and driving away, blowing kisses out the window until he was out of my sight.
