It was graduation day for Bug and Sam, I felt like I was going to pop, even though I had six months left. December twenty-eighth couldn't come soon enough, I was ready to meet her and ready to not be pregnant and feeling sicker than normal. She still needed a name, but we had time to think about it.
"Emily!" Blaine yelled, "Help!"
I ran into his room, with my pajama pants still on under my blue dress. "What's wrong?" I asked frantically, "What happened? Are you okay? Can I help? Just breath," I told him.
He was not breathing too great and looked like he was about to cry. "My red... red... red and it matched and it was matching now it's gone," he cried frantically spinning his ring on his finger.
I grabbed his hands and rubbed my thumbs on them softly to help him calm down, "Okay big brother, what's going on? What is red and missing that matched?"
"My stupid bow tie," he cried, letting his head flop on my chest. "But I mean, who needs it? No one is going to like you anyway especially not with that stupid faggy bow tie. You fucking idiot, you look like a prissy girl, no one is going to like you," he cried quoting the words of Cooper.
I shook my head and softly rubbed the back of his head, "Blaine, it's okay. You need to calm down Bugga. Deep breaths, you're okay. We are going to find your bow tie and we are going to be okay. We are going to take deep breaths and sit together for a few minutes. Then you are going to finish putting your fancy gel on and I'm going to look for your bow tie," I told him, kissing him on the top of his head.
Jake ran into the room with a towel wrapped around his waist brushing his teeth, "are you two okay?"
"Stupid faggy bow tie," Blaine muttered.
Jake looked at Blaine shocked then looked back at me, "so you two aren't okay?"
I rolled my eyes and shook my head, "I'm okay, Bug is... going to be okay. Can you go put some clothes on and turn my flat iron off?"
He kissed the top of my head and laughed, "are you sure you want me to put clothes on?"
"Fuck off Puckerman," Blaine said coldly. He clearly wasn't in the mood for any of this or any jokes.
Jake widened his eyes and left after kissing me one more time. He stopped leaning on the door frame, "I love you guys, I'll be getting ready if you guys need anything," he said leaving.
Once he left Blaine started crying again. At this point, I knew he wasn't crying about his bow tie. He was upset that the rest of our family wouldn't be there and worried that they would show up at the same time. It sucked, but I knew how he felt. I hated that he was going through this, he heard Sam talk about how his whole family was going to be here when Blaine only had Jake and I. I took his hand and put them on my face, "You are Blaine Anderson. You are the best big brother in the whole world, and I am going to watch you get valedictorian of your class and walk across that stage with all the fancy medals and ropes. I am going to clap so loud, people are going to think you have a million people in the stands for you. The only person more excited for you than me is baby girl."
He laughed sadly and shook his head, "you're the best, you know that right?" he said, wrapping his arms around me.
I laughed and kissed the top of his head again, "are you ready to keep getting ready or do you need a few more minutes?" I asked him.
He shrugged but didn't drop his hands, so I figured that he needed more hugs. It was stressful and I knew that, so I was going to be there for him. After a few minutes of hugs, Jake knocked on the door again.
"Hey sorry to bother you guys," he said softly. "I just wanted to tell y'all that we have about twenty minutes till Sam gets here so I can do Em's hair if needed."
I shook my head, "I'll just do two braids or something. I need to help him."
Jake nodded and left the room, I started looking around for Blaine's bow tie while he was fixing his hair. I looked in the bottom of his closet and the bathroom but still couldn't find it. I started shaking out the blankets hoping it got tangled in his bed.
"Ow," I muttered trying to lift his weighted blanket. I shook the blanket and the bow tie fell on the floor, "ha!" I yelled, proud of myself for finding it and lifting the blanket.
I picked it up and walked over to Blaine, clipping it on his shirt then kissing his head. "Crisis averted," I laughed. "Are you good for me to finish getting ready?"
He nodded and I went into Jake and I's room to finish getting ready. I started to straighten my hair, and Jake came to help me because keeping my arms up that long hurt.
Sam showed up and when I answered the door instead of Blaine he looked confused. "Is he okay? Is he just taking ten years to get ready? Oh Blaineeee," he laughed walking to his room.
I grabbed his arm and pulled him aside, "well, he's having a day because of family stuff and a lost bow tie. So be gentle when you go in there, and try to keep the jokes to a minimum."
He kissed the top of my head and nodded, "sounds good baby sister-in-law."
Sam and Blaine talked in his room for a few minutes, before coming out in their gowns. Blaine had a bag with all his cords so he wouldn't have to put them on until after we got there. We took some pictures of all of us, just them, and just Blaine and me. Blaine made Jake and I take pictures to show the progress of the bump because he was very excited to meet baby girl.
The glee club sang and graduated, then sat back down to either watch or go on stage and graduate. When Blaine walked across the stage, I was happy for him but it also hurt. He wasn't moving for college, he was staying close to get his teaching degree.
I was worried about the next a school year but proud of everything he had done. He was going to do amazing things and I was lucky to be next to him.
His speech for Valedictorian was perfect and brought almost the whole room to tears. While the other people were speaking, I thought about the future. I did this a lot, but this time it was different.
This time, it was perfect. This time, it was safe.
