No matter how long it takes

The sun glared through George's shut eyes. The faint sound of Karl, Sapnap, and Dream talking slowly awakened George.

George grabbed the nearest pillow with his eyes still shut and covered his face with it to block out the sunlight coming from the window.

"Dude, you've been sleeping for hours. How are you still tired?"

Sapnap asked noticing George.

"Mmmhhhhh."

George let out a sound indicating that he wanted to be left alone.

Dream chuckled.

"Let him sleep, he looks so peaceful."

Dream looked over at George and smiled gently admiring George.

𝑃𝑜𝑜𝑟 𝐺𝑒𝑜𝑟𝑔𝑒, ℎ𝑒 𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑘𝑠 𝑠𝑜 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑓𝑦.

After about fifteen minutes, George looked up from the couch in Dream's basement's living room. The other boys were playing on Dream's gaming console while sitting on the carpet.

"Finally, look who decided to wake up."

Sapnap said in a joking way.

"Haha you're so funny."

George replied sarcastically.

The rest of the day the boys all hung out and eventually Karl got picked up and Sapnap walked home since he lived just a block away.

"You can stay for another night if you want George, I think it would be fun."

Dream suggested.

"Ummm, sure I'll call my mum."

George pulled out his phone and talked to his mother. Luckily she said yes and the two boys became really excited.

It was already around 7 pm, so the sun was setting.

"I have an idea."

Dream said with a smirk on his face.

"What?"

George said laughing.

"Here come on follow me."

Dream lead George out of the house and into his backyard. Leaning against his house was a ladder onto the roof.

Dream started to climb up while George stayed with his feet planted on the ground.

"Dream...I'm not very good at climbing latters."

George sounded anxious while looking up at Dream.

Dream reached the top of the roof and was now looking down at George.

"It's okay, I'm right here."

George climbed half way up the ladder and Dream grabbed George's hand to pull him the rest of the way up.

Dream couldn't help but think to himself.

𝐻𝑖𝑠 ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑠𝑜 𝑠𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑙, 𝑠𝑜 𝑓𝑟𝑎𝑔𝑖𝑙𝑒.

George was now on the roof with Dream next to him.

𝑊𝑜𝑤 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠 𝐷𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑚 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑎 𝑔𝑟𝑖𝑝.

George thought to himself.

"You can let go of my hands."

George giggled.

"Oh yeah sorry."

Dream said obviously embarrassed.

Dream moved closer to the top of the roof and sat down facing the sunset. Hues of golden yellow, enchanting amber, light oranges, subtle reds, and blushing shades of pink filled the sky.

Dream looked over at George who was mesmerized.

𝐻𝑒'𝑠 𝑠𝑜...𝑠𝑜 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑖𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑐𝑒𝑛𝑡.

George's deep brown eyes met with Dream's. His face was illuminated from the golden hour sun. He gently smirked at Dream showing that he was grateful for the view.

𝑊ℎ𝑦 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠 ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑘 𝑎𝑡 𝑚𝑒 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡?

𝐼 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑤𝑖𝑠ℎ...

𝐼 𝑤𝑖𝑠ℎ 𝐼 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 ℎ𝑖𝑚 𝑡𝑜 𝑚𝑦𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓.

Dream thought as he watched the happiness heaping from George's face.

Dream felt his eyes staring at George's soft luscious lips.

George scoffs.

"You good Dream?"

Dream finally gets his head out of the clouds.

"Yeah."

He felt a little embarrassed that George had caught him staring. But Dream just couldn't take his eyes off the smaller boy.

Dream pulls out his phone and enters the camera app. He takes a photo of the beautiful sunset spread across the landscape that was flourished with Florida's beautiful palm trees.

While George wasn't looking Dream angled the camera to the other boy's face and snapped a photo (of course his phone was on silent so George didn't hear it being taken)

The photo had George facing the sunset almost glowing like light in the golden hour sunshine.

𝐻𝑒'𝑠 𝑠𝑜 𝑏𝑒𝑎𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑓𝑢𝑙.

Dream smiled lightly at the photo and added it to my eyes only before putting his phone away.

In that moment Dream made himself a promise.

𝐻𝑒'𝑙𝑙 𝑏𝑒 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑒, 𝑛𝑜 𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟 ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑖𝑡 𝑡𝑎𝑘𝑒𝑠.
