⚠️ Tigger warning: mentions of self harm ⚠️

A whirling pit of sickness grew larger in George's stomach. This was his first time being at school since the little accident the other morning. He'd been thinking about it none stop, almost tripped out by some sort of guilt he felt, the way he reacted to Dream's raw feelings for him. He approached the large thick metal doors. Kids were hustling in and out of them being obnoxiously loud.

George's pulse starts to pick up as he enters the hallway. Before the whole New Years Eve party George didn't personally know Dream, but he seen him around school often enough to recognize his face.

Dream has probably never noticed George before. George remembers the other night when Dream was explaining to him that he feels alone and is having a hard time recently, but he definitely is no loner that's for sure.

Dʀᴇᴀᴍ's POV:

The hallway is cluttered with kids screaming and yelling with their friends. Dream tries to pull down his sleeve to try and cover the fresh marks on his wrists. His face just looks exhausted, like he hasn't slept in weeks. The deep reddish purple circled just barely visible under his eyes.

"So and then...Dream are you even listening?"

Asks Sapnap obviously frustrated that Dream hasn't been taking in a single word for the past ten minutes.

"Oh ummm haha that's so funny!"

Sapnap looks at Dream with disappointment.

"I didn't even tell a joke."

Dream looks down and sighs deeply.

"I'm sorry Sapnap, I'm just really out of it today."

Sapnap rolls his eyes.

"Yeah you don't say...Hey I'm going to head to class early, the teacher got me to volunteer to set up. How stupid huh? Anyways catch you later, and wake up why won't you!"

Sapnap disappears in the hallways in just a split second, kids crowding all the locker space.

𝐻𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑤𝑒 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑎𝑔𝑎𝑖𝑛, 𝑎𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑎 𝑐𝑟𝑜𝑤𝑑 𝑓𝑢𝑙𝑙 𝑜𝑓 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒. 𝑂𝑛𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑓𝑒𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠.

Dream was right but everyone has their struggles. We just all like to pretend that life couldn't be better when we are clearly pleading in silence for any form of happiness. We all do it and have felt it.

𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒... 𝑖𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝐺𝑒𝑜𝑟𝑔𝑒?

Dream catches a glimpse of George tending to his locker.

𝐻𝑒 𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑘𝑠...𝑠𝑎𝑑...𝐼'𝑚 𝑠𝑢𝑐ℎ 𝑎 𝑓𝑢𝑐𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑖𝑑𝑖𝑜𝑡 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑘𝑖𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔 ℎ𝑖𝑚. 𝐻𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑠𝑛'𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑖𝑡, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐼 𝑑𝑜𝑛'𝑡 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝑖𝑓 ℎ𝑒'𝑠 𝑔- 𝑂𝐻 𝑆𝐻𝐼𝑇 𝐺𝐸𝑂𝑅𝐺𝐸 𝐼𝑆 𝑇𝐻𝐸 𝑂𝑁𝐿𝑌 𝑂𝑁𝐸 𝑊𝐻𝑂 𝐾𝑁𝑂𝑊𝑆 𝐼'𝑀 𝐺𝐴𝑌!

This realization hovers over Dream just being a constant shadow. Dream starts to turn to a nervous sweat. It's true Dream has never shared his sexuality. Not to Sapnap, not to Karl, not to any of his other friends, no one other then George.

But the thing is he still wants George so badly. No one has made him feel the way George does. Oh the things he would do, the lengths he would go just for them to share mutual feelings for each other.

The day goes on, their classes seem to drift by quite fast, and soon enough lunch passes too, next thing they now it's the end of the day. (I wish school was this easy XD )

"George can I talk to you for a second."

Dream managed to grasp George's attention while passing him in the hallway that's no longer so full.

"Dream..."

Dream places his hand on George's shoulder to get his full attention.

"Please let me talk even if it's just for a second."

A knot starts to pull on George's throat, he struggles to not have a full on panic attack in the middle of the school hallway.

"Well I've been meaning to talk to you anyways. I want to apologize..."

George starts. Dream's eyes widen making his mind go blank, he completely discards whatever bullshit he was about to tell George about him being sorry.

"You want to apologize? For what?"

George thinks for just a moment.

"Well...I shouldn't have lashed out on you like that the other morning. I was just...confused. Here come."

George takes the sleeve of Dream's hoodie and leads him outside in a small corner away for everyone else trying to gather their things and head home. Dream just silently lets George lead him.

"So what was the point of coming over here? What can't you tell me over there that you can here?"

Dream asks genuinely confused and trying to piece together any possible scenario.

"Heh, you really don't get it do you?"

George laughs carefully.

Before Dream could get a word out George leans in and kisses Dream. The moment that feels like it's been waiting a life time. It's almost like it was perfectly planned yet came by surprise. A deep shade of blushing red paints itself across the boys' cheeks.

The two boys melt on the feel of each other's lips. It was the perfect kind of kiss. The kind of kiss that one would wish upon some lonely star to achieve. The kind that the old would cherish in memory of. The kind that would flat out stop time. For there was no time anymore, not when it's just both of them together. Nothing could break the bond they shared.

Dream grabs George's hand softly. George uses his other hand and starts to feel around Clay's hand and eventually goes up to his wrist.

"What the- Dream what's on your wrists?"
