Dream's family hosts a New Year's Eve party every year. It can be a lot of fun when all of the kids hang out on these nights.

Tonight was no different, they had the house all decorated, and a meal and snacks prepared.

A loud ding from the doorbell sent Dream to go and open the door.

In came his aunt and uncle. Soon after them his parent's close friends.

But after them a new family showed up. A woman and a son, Dream didn't recognize either of them.

"Hello-"

before Dream could get another word out his mother came up behind him and greeted them.

"Hello Lindsay, hello George! Welcome to our home."

Dream's mother was a very kind woman.

"Thank you so much for inviting us!"

Lindsay said in a warm tone.

"I'm Lindsay Davidson and this is my son George Davidson!"

"Nice to meet you."

Dream said.

"Look George, I told you Carol had a son your age. Why don't you two get to meet each other?"

George looked at Dream awkwardly, Dream could tell he was a bit hesitant to be around him.

"You want to go and hang out in my room?"

Dream asked.

"Sure."

George said bluntly following Dream down the stairs and into the basement.

Dream opened the door to his room and sat down on his office chair he had in-front of his desk.

"I never got your name."

George said looking at Dream.

"Oh it's ahhh Dream."

He replied.

"Dream? What an interesting name to be fair."

George said in response.

"Well I guess Dream is just a nickname, my actual name is Clay but I'd prefer not to be called that."

Dream explained while looking away.

"Oh, that's cool."

George said obviously showing a little confusion on his face.

Dream looked at George who was still standing in-front of his door.

"You know you can come and sit on my bed if you want."

he said nodding his head over at the bed.

George slowly headed towards his bed and sat down.

"My cousins should be here in a little bit."

Dream said trying to take away some of the awkward silence.

George pulled out his phone and started to play games.

Dream just sat on his chair patiently waiting and flipping through some of his comic books he had scattered on the surface of his desk.

After about 10 minutes Dream finally spoke up.

"Dinner should be ready soon too. We should probably start heading upstairs."

George nodded and followed Dream upstairs.
