Chapter Twenty-three
A/N: I've had a few readers asking me if Bates and Quinn use protection, Yes they do. They do not use condoms because she's on the birth control shot. That was going to be a conversation that Quinn and Annalise have later into the story, I didn't feel the need to put it towards the beginning. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks! Enjoy..
I arrived at our dorm in one piece thank goodness. I was speeding through the traffic lights and Manhattan streets and didn't realize why until my phone buzzed. Unlocking the screen I saw...
Bates: thinkn bout you...
I immediately hit 'reply'...
Me: your so sweet. I can't wait to get back to you..
Bates: you read my mind. Hurry back beautiful.
A smile from ear-to-ear etched across my face as I stuffed my phone into my back pocket opening the double doors on my way to my dorm room.
I climbed both flights of stairs finally to my room and realized the door was locked. Digging into my purse, I fished out Annalise's car keys and and slid the key into the lock hoping it wouldn't give me trouble as it does for her. I've repeatedly reminded her to get the bent key fixed but she always says she will when she has time. Luckily, it unlocked with no problem for me.
I closed the door behind me dropping her keys and my purse on the small table by the door. I'm hoping Annalise is home so she can bring me back to Bates' apartment. My wishes came true when I walked further inside and heard music blaring from the bathroom.
"Annalise, I'm home." I yelled unsure if she could hear me. But only for a few minutes.. I silently thought. I wonder what she's going to think when I tell her that I'm going to stay with Bates for a little while?
"Finally you're home. I thought someone took my car but totally forgot that I let you take it. How is Bates feeling?" She said as she walked out of the bathroom. Okay, I'll admit, she has a few loose screws but she's very loyal to people she cares about. She's a best friend and at times an aggravating sister wrapped all into one. I wouldn't trade her for the world though.
"He's fine. He's in some pain but I think the medicine they gave him will help. That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about. I'm going to need a favor." I answered her as I filled a glass of water from the tap. I could still hear her music coming through the cracks as she walked out in a neon green beach towel wrapped around her with a matching one wrapped around her head with a toothbrush sticking out of her mouth.
She put her hand on her hip looking at me trying to figure me out. "What is it..." She asked. Annalise knows that I never ask anyone for anything so I guess that explains the look she was giving me.
"I was wondering if you could drop me off at Bates' apartment and I'll be back in a day or two." I honestly didn't know how long I was staying but hopefully that would keep her calm.
She sucked in a huge breath while her eyes grew the size of quarters with every tooth in her head showing, "I knew it, Quinn! I just knew he'd ask you to stay or you would eventually start sleeping over! You know what that leads to, don't you?" She held her toothbrush in her mouth sliding it in and out. There goes the agitating sibling side of Annalise showing.
"Your so gross, stop that!" I laughed at her funny gesture. "I'm actually going to help him around the house, ya know... cook for him, help with laundry or his bandages. That sort of thing." Why I couldn't look her in the eye, I don't know but I'm nervous just explaining this to her.
