Song: 'You and Me' By: Lifehouse
*It was requested that I do a part 2 of Ours so here it is ❤

.......

" 'Cause it's you and me
And all of the people with nothing to do
Nothing to lose
And it's you and me
And all of the people
And I don't know why
I can't keep my eyes off of you."

It's late at night as you lay in bed, surrounded by endless amounts of bridal magazines. It's been six months since your awful dinner with your parents. When they forbid you to marry Mac in the future, and just two nights ago it had finally happened. Mac proposed, and at first you couldn't have been happier. Yet somehow that was wearing off, staring at the diamond ring on your left hand. You were amazed that Mac went out of his way to make you the diamond himself, knowing the process must've taken him all day. You began to feel tears welling up in your eyes, the thought of your parents not being there was bothering you more than you thought it would.

Just then you heard Mac coming up the stairs so you quickly tried to wipe away the wetness from your cheeks. "Hey babe, whoa starting the planning already, someone's excited huh?" He teased but his demeanor quickly changed when he saw you had been crying. "Y/n what's wrong?" Now in his serious tone. He pushed some magazines to the side before wrapping an arm around you, then pulling you into his side. You tried to stop the tears but they just wouldn't quit "They should be there. I know they won't be but....still." You whispered it just barely loud enough for Mac to hear. You didn't need to explain what you meant because he already knew "I know baby, is there anything at all I can do, to make this better?" You just smiled weakly up at him, appreciating this man that would move mountains for you if he could. "No, it's okay. It's done, I know I shouldn't even bother sending them an invite. Anyways, I gotta go, I told Riley and Desi they could help pick out their bridesmaids dresses. I'm meeting them there in twenty." You got up to leave, but not before giving Mac a sweet kiss "As long as it's you and me that's all that matters right?" Almost sounding like you were trying to convince yourself that was true. Mac kissed you back, and his heart broke a little when he heard you say that. Knowing you wanted it to be true but also knew it wasn't. The two of you exchanged 'I love yous' before you left to meet up with the girls.

........

*Macs Pov*

As you drove to your destination you knew she wouldn't approve, but you had to try. Seeing that look of disappointment on her face made you feel helpless. You knew she had said there was nothing you could do to help but you had to try. So when you finally got there, you pulled up the drive and parked your car. Soon you were standing in front of that familiar oak wooden door, with those white colored letters 'Welcome'. Ringing the doorbell, you stood and waited until someone opened the door.

Catherine, stood there surprised to see you "Angus what are you doing here?" You hated that they wouldn't just call you Mac, probably because they didn't like you. "I need to speak to you, and your husband if he's home." She furrowed her eyebrows in even more confusion, and then pondered for a moment "Is it y/n? Is she ok? Did something happen?" Her face turned to pure horror at the thought. You quickly shook your head, knowing how this must look "No, she's okay! I just need to talk to you and Greg about something important." She sighed in relief and reluctantly offered to let you inside.

Once she led you to the back porch, you saw Greg reading the paper in his rocker. "Greg honey, Mac is here, he says he needs to talk to us." Then you watched as he looked at you over top of his glasses, as they sat on the bridge of hi nose. "Well, if it isn't the man who took our daughter from us. You got alot of nerve showing up here." You stood your ground as you replied boldly "Actually sir, I believe the two of you are the reason she's not speaking to you at the moment. Look I didn't come here to make anyone upset, and she might actually kill me before you guys do for telling you this. However, you need to know, and I know she wants you there even if you don't approve of me. We are getting married, I asked her two nights ago and she said yes."

Seeing the looks on their faces you weren't sure if you should continue. It was a mix of hurt, anger, sadness, and maybe some guilt. "We told you it would be happening soon, and you forbid her to marry me but that's not going to work. She will not invite you guys if you don't accept me. I don't want to be the reason you guys aren't there. So I'm here to try and reason with you both, to please reach out to her. Tell her your working on getting used to us, I don't want you guys to miss this anymore than I'm sure you don't want to. I know she wants you there Catherine, when she picks out her wedding dress. Greg, I know she wants you to walk her down the aisle. You don't have to like me, but you need to at least get through the idea that I'm going to be her husband. Please call her, apologize, put your pride aside and be there for your daughter. I know you love her and only want the best for her. Despite what you think of my job your not going to hope for a better man for her than me. You couldn't possibly find a man that will love her more than me."

You took the moment of silence as a good stopping point "Thank you for listening to me, I will see myself out." As you went to walk back into the house to leave you stopped to turn one last time. "I know you both love her and she's loves you, so call, please. Before it's too late." Then with that final sentence you left.

"There's something about you now
That I can't quite figure out
Everything she does is beautiful
Everything she does is right."

.........

You got back from looking at dresses with the girls, you guys were just doing that though since you didn't even know what color scheme you wanted yet. You still wanted to get some ideas first, and you'd like to say the girls were helpful butttt, not so much. You saw Mac sitting on the couch, fiddling with a paperclip, making you smile. "Hey baby." You said from behind, but he didn't bother turning around "Hey babe." He was so damn focused on that thing.

Just as you were about to sit down next to him, your cell started to ring. Looking at the screen, you saw "MOM" calling, which made your stomach churn. "Mac my mom is calling." That got the man's attention, as he turned around on the couch, to face you. "Maybe you should answer it." So you hesitated for a few more seconds, and then answered slowly "Hello?" Saying that word as if it were a question.

"Y/n I have you on speaker with your father next to me. We want you to know that we love you, and we miss you. We want you to know that Angus- I mean Mac, sorry I know he doesn't like Angus, is a good man. I'm sorry we didn't see it sooner. I don't think he told you, but he came over earlier and told us about the wedding. Then told us what fools we were being about your guys relationship. He was right, we would like a redo dinner if that's okay, and hopefully be allowed to come to your wedding."

You felt tears well up in yours eyes, you had put the phone on speaker, and looked at Mac the whole time. A proud look was plastered on his face, but bashful at the same time. "Mom, Dad, that means so much to me. Really it does. I love and miss you both too, text me dinner plans and we'll talk all about you guys coming to the wedding, ok?" When the call ended you saw Mac stand up, and all you could do was run over to him, and kiss him passionately. Once you pulled away, you were practically bawling "I can't believe you did that for me." Mac smiled down at you "Are you kidding? There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you, anything short of a miracle that is. I love you, and you deserved to have your parents at your wedding." You smiled through your tears "I love you too, I just wish yours could be there too."

Mac smiled "They will be, in spirit. I just can't wait to marry the love of my life, and my best friend. You and Me. No matter what." You nodded your head "No matter what." Then giving him another passionate kiss, you couldn't wait to be his forever.
