You were currently on the Phoenix jet staring out the window at the clouds in the sky. Mac, you and Riley were on your way to Austria for a mission. There was intel fed to Matty that a cyberattack was in the works and it was up to the Phoenix to put a stop to it. You knew your mind should be on the mission but it was somewhere else.

How are you going to tell him?

"Hey." You heard his voice causing you to turn away from the window and up at Mac.

"Hey." You said with a smile, trying to hide how you were really feeling.

Mac looked down at the other side of the plane where Riley was before sitting down on the seat opposite of you. "You wanna tell me what's been going on with you lately?"

Furrowing your brows you faked dumb "What are you talking about?"

Mac just gave you a look letting it be known he wasn't buying your lie "This is me your talking to y/n. I know you about as well as you know yourself and I know something is weighing on you. You know how dangerous it is to be distracted on a mission."

You and Mac had a simple relationship, colleagues but more importantly friends. That was until two weeks ago. The two of you were alone at his place just hanging out as friends with pizza...and alcohol. Next thing you remember was waking up naked in Mac's bed after the both of you had sex the night before. Once you had woken up you then woke up a sleeping Mac, also naked, in a panic. The two of you agreed to never speak of it again, not wanting to complicate your friendship. Little did you know what was going to happen next.

"I know Mac, but I am fine really. I'll have my head in the game for the mission so don't worry about it." You said, a little more annoyed than you had meant to sound.

Mac looked you over once more before letting out a sigh "Alright then."

You sat there for a minute waiting for him to get up to go back to his previous seat. Instead he just leaned back in the seat he was in now, trying to get comfortable.

Being this close to Mac was killing you, and you felt like you were getting ready to have a panic attack while trying to keep this inside. "Excuse me." You whispered before getting up. Ignoring his worried eyes on you, you walked down to the other side of the plane to the bathroom.

Once you got into the small space you locked it behind you, as you started to hyperventilate.

You shouldn't even be here on this mission, in your condition.

Gripping onto the counter of the sink you stared at your reflection in the mirror while trying to take slow steady breaths to calm yourself down.

After a few minutes had passed you had felt your heart rate slow down and your breathing get back under control.

What am I going to do? You thought to yourself.

                                                                                           ***

Hours later you are knee deep in the mission, the sounds of gunfire echoing through an abandoned warehouse. You fired your gun as you took cover behind some empty oil barrels , trying to take down the people firing their guns at you and your friends.

Mac was shielding himself behind the same barrels next to you while Riley was trying to hack into their computer system to stop the cyber attack.

Looking over at Mac for a brief moment you saw him looking around the space "Please tell me there's something here you can work with Mac! I'm almost out of ammo!"

Mac frantically looked around for anything that might help "There's nothing! Damnit!" Then he looked at the barrels in front of you both and you saw the idea flash across his face.
