Love Thy Neighbor ~ Part 1

Remember How This All Started?

Jeb: "Everybody, it's time to announce the winner of the baking contest."
We all start to gather around.
Jeb: "But, we need an impartial judge to break the tie between Maybelle's glorious coconut cake and Amelia's divine sweet potato pie."
Elvis: "Me. Me. Y'all know I love good food. I even have my own fork."
Rosalind: "No. Y'all need to let an expert handle this."
She says taking his fork.
Elvis: "Aww, she took my fork. Should never take a man's fork."
Rosalind takes a piece of cake and eat it.
Rosalind: "Mmmmm-hmmmmm. Mm-hmm. Worthy to be praised."
Maybelle: "All right now."
Rosalind: "Now for Amelia's sweet potato pie."
She takes a piece and eats it. At first she's silent, but then she bursts into song. Everyone jumps.
Rosalind: "Hey! Behold. Our queen!"
They give M'Dear a trophy of an apron.
M'Dear: "Oh, I really don't deserve this."
Maybelle: "Yes you do Amelia. This is the best pie you ever made. I ain't even mad I lost.
~Time Skip~
Shaka put his arm over my shoulders.
Shaka: "Look at Elvis over there jealous of Drew."
He says laughing.
Y/n: "For real. I feel bad but at the same time, I don't."
Shaka: "I have bad news..."
Y/n: "What is it?"
Shaka: "I'm leaving tomorrow..."
Y/n: "I know....but we can still call and text each other. We have phones."
Shaka: "True."
Moz: "Family, I have an announcement."
We all look at him as he clears his throat.
Moz: "First, I can't tell you how much Cocoa and I are enjoying all this."
Cocoa: "Even though it's humid and the mosquitoes are the size of bats, it's nice to be around family."
Moz: "I miss you guys, and that's why we've come to a decision. After 15 years of playing pro ball, I've decided to hang up my cleats."
Everyone starts cheering.
Mazzi: "Oh my god!"
Daniel starts making weird noises.
Daniel: "Can we— C- Can you afford that?"
Moz: "Like I said, I miss most of my family."
Maybelle: "Well, bring your rusty butt on back here then."
Moz: "I am. We're moving back to Columbus."
M'Dear: "Yes! Thank you Jesus!"
I hug Shaka.
Y/n: "Guess who's staying in Columbus!"
Shaka: "We are!"
Jade: "You understand what's going on?"
Shaka: "Pretty sure Dad's talking about moving here."
Jade: "Uhhh. I'm really gonna miss him."
I just laugh. Wait until she finds out.

-M'Dear's House-
Jade stomps up the porch.
Moz: "You said you had a lot of fun here."
Jade "VISITING! I don't want to stay in Whoville."
Y/n: "That hurts."
I saw putting my hand on my heart. Shaka laughs a little.
Jade: "I want to stay in Seattle with all of my friends."
Cocoa: "Honey, it's gonna be an adjustment for all of us, but we think it'll be good for the whole family."
Jade: "No, not for me. It's not fair."
M'Dear: "Jade, instead of focusing on the negative, try looking at the positive aspects of the move."
Jade: "Okay, why don't you mind your own business?"
We all gasp.
Moz: "Oh!"
Y/n: "Yeah Jade, I'm praying for you, uhh SEE YOU TOMORROW!"
And I ran to my house.
SHAKA'S POV
Y/n's so lucky she doesn't live here.
Jade laughs.
Jade: "Uhh...I'm....I'm sorry. What I meant was, could you please give us a moment?"
M'Dear: "Hold my Bible."
Moz: "Yep."
M'Dear: "Hold my purse."
Jeb: "Millie, why don't you count to ten first?"
M'Dear: "One, ten."
She's a deadman.
M'Dear: "Get upstairs."
Jade: "Mom?"
Cocoa: "Sweetie, I told you your smart mouth would get you into trouble one day."
Jade: "Daddy?"
Moz: "Only God can help you now."
~Time Skip~
We here Jade getting whopped so we start cleaning the kitchen up. I don't wanna face the wrath of M'Dear right now.
Cocoa: "Moz, I think we should stop this. You know we don't believe in corporal punishment."
Moz: "Yeah."
Jeb: "Wait. Before you go up there take a look."
They peek around the corner and see us cleaning.
Cocoa: "Who are they?"
We hear another scream and we flinch and clean faster.
~Time Skip~
My siblings and I were watching TV when our parents burst through the door.
Moz: "Ohhh!"
Shaka: "Dad! What are you doing?"
I saw as he lays on the bed.
Jade: "What are you doing?"
Cocoa: "Ohhhhh!"
Shaka: "Oh no!"
I move out the way.
Cocoa: "Cannonball!"
She says jumping on the bed. We gather around them.
Cocoa: "Time for a family meeting."
Moz: "Ok listen. We're sorry for blindsiding you guys with the decision to move."
Cocoa: "Yes. We were so excited, we didn't think to tell you first and give you some time to process the idea."
Mazzi: "I'm good with it."
Ami: "Me too. I love being with M'Dear and Grandpa."
Shaka: "Plus we already made great friends, and the food is way better here. Uh no offense, Mom."
Jade: "Vivi's mom said I could stay in Seattle and live with them."
Ami: "Oh no! That is not happening. We're a family. We stick together, sista."
Shaka, Mazzi: "Yeah."
Jade: "I know. I hate my life."
E: "We know!"
Moz: "You're stuck with us! That's it! We stick together, we stick together!"
