"Well, don't you look happy?" Jay arrived at the office at the same time I did. His famous smirk is intact on his face as he teased me.

Today is one of the days that I felt amazing. Last night I blew through my documents and wrote a start to my book series finale.

I didn't know what came over me but I suddenly felt encouraged during that time and I felt so inspired that I finished writing the starting prompt of my book.

I guess Jay saw my most genuine smile this morning which is why he decided to tease me.

"I have a starting prompt now, Jay!" I excitedly squealed.

Jay looked shocked but a bright smile immediately emerged upon his face as he processed what I just told him. "You did?"

I nodded enthusiastically. Because of that, the two of us made our way to our offices with a positive attitude. Even Sunoo smiled brightly as I entered.

"I haven't seen that smile for a while, ma'am." He said as he placed my coffee in front of me and the list of the things that needed to be accomplished today.

I looked at him meaningfully.

Sunoo knows about what I have been through. He's been here ever since, and in actuality, he isn't just an assistant, he's a friend.

The day went by quicker than I expected, the day was just filled with such positive and lively energy that it felt like the fay was finished after a blink of an eye.

I went straight home after my work hours, I didn't have anywhere else to go and I was really tired.

As I got ready to go to bed, I heard my doorbell rang.

I walked towards the door and opened it. The door revealed my boss dressed in his oversized hoodie and sweat pants.

"What do you want?" I rolled my eyes at him playfully.

He gasped acting hurt, "17 years of friendship and this is what I get, unbelievable."

We laughed and he entered my house closing the door behind him. I noticed that he had takeout on his hands. So I decided to tease him, "Damn, Jay do you really know me? You know I don't eat dinner."

He looked at me quizzically, "Huh? I thought you were the one who ordered this. It was left on your doorstep when I arrived."

He placed the bag on the kitchen table and opened it up, it was a full course dinner meal filled with a luxurious menu.

"I did not order anything," I whispered confused.

Jay went through the bag looking for something, "Look."

He gave me a card that he found in the paper bag.

"Did you get a boyfriend and not tell me?"

I looked at Jay who was reading the note from behind me. I sighed before answering, "More like a stalker, how could anyone even know these."

"These? You mean this isn't the first time?" He looked alarmed.

I nodded as I threw the entire bag in the garbage. I didn't want to waste food but I'd rather be safe than sorry. "Someone left a bouquet for at the company the other day, the sender knew my favorite flowers, who would know that?"

Jay became quiet as if he was thinking about something deep. It took a while before he came to his senses and said, "Be careful, okay?"

I nodded in agreement and he sighed.

"Jake contacted me," After a long period of silence as we watched a movie, Jay spoke. "He said he wanted to get together with the gang again."

I paused. It has been a while since our group of friends has gotten together. "I think I'd love that, oh how I missed them." 

We both spent the night talking and reminiscing about our days together. The days where our only problem was how we could sneak out without getting caught by our parents or how we could help each other with our studies. 

Those were the days that I hoped to relive.

"I love you too."

As I heard those words from your lips, couldn't help but shed a few tears. Because of that, you laughed at me. But as your thumbs wiped the tears away, I realized how much pain I have been holding while I waited for you to say those words back to me.

But, it was worth it, Pearl.

You were worth every pain and heartache. Because those words healed every wound I had in me. It made me feel alive and even better than what I was before.

You made me better, Pearl.

The days passed and we became even stronger. Love made us stronger. 

I thought I already knew everything about you but being with you, like this, made me realize that you had a whole different side of you. 

And I love you even more because of that.

You were clingy, oh most definitely. However, as some of our friends teased you that I may find your clinginess annoying, I didn't.

I love how you were always beside me whenever we are in groups. I love how you unconsciously reach for my hand whenever you feel nervous. I love how you grasp the hem of my shirt when you feel embarrassed to say something. I love the way you cuddle onto me and hold my hand as you played with my fingers.

Pearl, if I were to write every single thing I love about you, I would take a million pages, maybe even more. That is because I love everything about you.

I love you.

Another thing I found out about you was your curiosity about the universe. Your theories about other dimensions, parallel universes, and dreams.

"What if everything that is happening to us right now is all fiction, made up by our minds?" You suddenly opened the topic as we re-watched your favorite movie. I chuckled at your sudden thought, "I'm serious," you pouted which made my heart do somersaults. 

"What if these are all just dreams?"

As I looked down at your gorgeous hazel eyes, I unconsciously answered your question, "If this was a dream, I'd never want to stay awake."

I spent the entire day reading the book. I got so immersed in it that I didn't notice Jay entering the room. I jolted as I saw a handkerchief in front of me. I looked up at Jay who looked blurry, I didn't realize that I was crying. Not until Jay pulled me into an embrace, did I start weeping from the pain of the wounds the book tore open.

I heard his voice in my head,

"You're the dream I'd ever get tired of having."
