Three months passed and everything suddenly felt as though it was the same. Sunghoon and I started getting closer again.
We went on dates, got to reminisce, and catch with whatever the other was doing.
But we didn't rush anything. We let everything flow the way we did before. We love each other but what happened definitely made an impact on our relationship, or whatever this is.
However, what we can say is that Jay is ecstatic that we started talking back again.
As the three of us are hanging around Jay's house, he looked at the two of us with a smile on his face
"You two back together now?"
His sudden question made me freeze in place. I could feel Sunghoon's hold on my waist tighten.
I felt Sunghoon's gaze on me so I returned his look.
He smiled and looked at Jay before answering, "That's her call."
I scowled at him. He knows I hate being put on the spot and how I hate to answer those types of questions. He chuckled at my reaction and squeezed me close.
"We're taking it slow, Jay." He answered. "I'm trying to win her back."
Jay laughed at the two of us. He has always been fond of Sunghoon. He approved of him for me.
"I think you already did. She looks as whipped as you did back in high school." Jay looked at me teasingly.
I kicked his leg and exclaimed, "Hey! I'm not!"
"You're not?" He looked at me with a pout on his face. His eyes trying to woo me into saying that he already won me back and that I am back to how I feel about him during high school.
I looked at him bewildered by how adorable he looked, "I—"
Jay's laugh got louder as he saw me struggle. I glared at him before sinking into Sunghoon's embrace.

Sunghoon and I went and came back to the park we usually went to before. He said he wanted to relive our best memories.
After we got together again, I saw how Sunghoon became different. I mean he's still my Sunghoon but something about him became sentimental.
I love him even more because of that, he looks like he doesn't take anything for granted.
"Let's stay like this forever, hoon." I snuggled up his chest, even more, feeling the warmth of his body spread through mine.
"Of course, my pearl. I wouldn't want anything less," he replied as he rests his head onto mine hugging my body.
I didn't realize but a tear then fell on my cheeks. I quickly wiped it away before he notices. A slight fear erupting in my heart I spoke, "You..."
He hummed as I stopped my sentence, "What is it, baby?"
"You won't leave me again, right, hoon?" Three months have passed and he did everything to make it up to me. He did everything for me to forget about what happened between us and to start anew.
However, the thought of being left alone again without any explanation still scares me. I don't think I can bear losing him again.
"I'm sorry if I made you this paranoid, baby. I won't leave you again, don't worry, hm?" His simple answer made me feel comfortable, though there was still doubt in my heart, it was easy to ignore it after everything Sunghoon did for the past months.
I felt his hand run down my face and wipe the tears that escaped my eyes. He brought out his pinky and linked it to mine to signify a promise. He then pulled my index finger and smoothly intertwined his fingers on mine.
I laughed at how smooth he was.
"The stars look beautiful," Sunghoon looked at me smiling. "but my dearest pearl outshines every single one of them," he added, making me feel a thousand butterflies. My heart is beating faster than usual.
"I love you, baby."
"I love you too, hoon." I giggled as the heat made its way to my cheeks.
I looked up and enjoyed the comforting silence that he and the night sky provided.
"Look at that constellation, it's a circle. Like a pearl." He pointed over a bunch of stars.
"That's a hexagon." I looked at him knowingly.
"It's a circle."
I chuckled, "It's a constellation called the winter hexagon."
"Stop being smart for a while and look at me giving a sweet symbolism to a boring hexagon." He scoffed.
"First of all, it's not boring. Second, Stop being cringy." I tapped his thigh.
He pouted and looked at me, "It's not cringy, it's sweet."
"Alright you big baby, now stop pouting!"

Our friends approved of us, that was all that mattered. Everyone was happy for us. I was happy with you.
I remembered one of our friends saying that he would stop believing in love if we broke up.
I wonder how he feels right now.
Everyone celebrated with us because they knew how perfect we were together. They knew we were meant to be.
Everyone knew that except for destiny.
Something about destiny felt odd.
Destiny showed us that we were perfect for each other but it also showed that we can never be.
How could that be, Pearl?
How can we not be for each other when I love you so.

I closed the book and looked at the clock on Inna's wall.
"Oh, it's almost time. I have to go, Inna." I placed the book in my bag and stood up from her couch.
My friend looked at me abruptly and said, "To?"
"Sunghoon."
She looked skeptical, "You haven't told me about that. I see you guys all the time but you haven't even told me the story yet."
"Fine. What do you want to know?" I sighed and sat back down.
"Why did he leave?"
The question took me off guard. "I... Don't know."
"You didn't even ask him?" Inna looked worried.
I shook my head but tried to console my emotions and Inna's doubts by defending Sunghoon. "He's here now, Inna."
"He came back after god knows what. Then he doesn't even explain?" She asked.
"Sounds like a huge red flag, Lumi."
I bit my lip before answering, she is right but I didn't really care about what is right and wrong at this point. "All I care is that he's here, and we are okay now."
"I hope you won't regret that."
"Jay approves of this, we can trust Jay's judgment," I assured her.
She nodded agreeing about our mutual friend's intuition, "You are right about that but don't you want to know, Lumi?" She poked at my curiosity.
"The reason why he left you that heartbroken?"
