The next day I woke up groaning at my alarm going off. I had a really bad night's sleep, all I could do was toss and turn, thinking about what I should say to Max. I still wasn't sure about the decision I made but I knew I couldn't avoid it forever. I quickly got ready wearing ripped skinny jeans, a white shirt covered by an oversized jacket and a black cap.
Once Breakfast was done I went to play some F1 on the simulator, wanting to be in the best shape I could be for Spain.
After finishing my race where I finished P6 I heard two sharp knocks on my door. My heart started hammering in my chest, knowing it was Max. I made my way to the door, opening it to reveal a happy Max, he was holding a big bouquet of red roses.
"Hey beautiful." He complimented me while sending a smirk my way.
"Hey." I responded neutrally, not really knowing the vibe I wanted to give off.
"These are for you." He said while handing me the flowers.
"That's really sweet, thank you."
"No problem, you deserve a lot more after everything that has happened." He muttered which thickened the awkward atmosphere for sure.
"Come in." I said trying t0 change the subject while opening the door a bit more and stepping to the side so he could come in.

"Anything to drink?." I asked politely.
"Water's fine." He responded while taking his seat on the couch.
I got him some water and put it down on the table in front of him.
I sat down next to him but further away than I might have wanted to, causing Max to frown.
"Why are you sitting so far away from me?." He questioned.
"It's not like it used to be." I commented, getting straight to the point.
"I know." He said softly, showing his vulnerability.
"I heard about your drinking issues."
My words caused him to look up at me, shocked that I found out.
"Fucking Christian." He cursed.
"Christian is not important right now, what happened to cause you to be this way?,you weren't like this when we were together, as short as it may have been." I shot back, not being able to throw a bit of shade into it.
"I just couldn't deal with myself." He admitted, looking down at the ground out of shame, his face being buried by his hand.
"What do you mean?." I asked for clarification, wanting to not jump to conclusions too fast.

"I fucked up massively, I was scared Anna, the moment you told me you were getting into formula 4 I freaked out. I was terrified that it would drive us apart, I was afraid of getting hurt, you mean the world to me. You comforted me when I relived the memories of my ex cheating and then I did the exact same thing to you, I was being so stupid. I was frightened and instead of talking about it with you I kissed another girl to drown out all the thoughts of not being able to hold you one day, I love you."
He looked up at me, his eyes staring into mine, showing he meant every word, I knew he did but it didn't change the fact that he cheated. He kissed another girl.
"I don't know what to say." I confessed, my mind being completely blank and filled with thoughts at the same time.
"I need you." He said while his hand moved over to my cheek, his thumb rubbing over my cheek in a comforting manner.
"How do I know it's not gonna happen again?, how do I know that you will not make the same mistake again?." I asked, somewhat desperate while I removed his hand from my cheek. Not being able to deal with how much it felt like coming home.

"I'm gonna better myself, I promise. I'll do anything to get you back Anna, I swear." He promised.
I'm sure everyone would tell me I'm a complete idiot for wanting him back but I couldn't rule my heart. He owned my heart and I was just a mere passenger in the entire situation.
"I forgive you." I muttered under my breath, still not feeling a 100% comfortable with what I just said.
"What?." Max exclaimed, looking shocked, his mouth wide agape but that was soon transformed into the biggest smile.
"I said I forgive you." I repeated with a sheepish smile.
"Omg Anna." He said before getting closer to me, his lips crashing into mine. I quickly kissed him back. Cupping his face with my hands. He slipped his tongue into my mouth while his hands went over to my waist.
"I missed this." I admitted once pulling back to catch my breath.
"What about George?." Max asked, it just dawning on him that you were with George.
"Uhmm... he broke up with me." I confessed, my cheeks turning crimson red, feeling embarrassed about talking about my ex in front of my other ex.
"How could he ever?." He said while looking at me with fascination.
"It doesn't matter." I shrugged it off, not wanting to talk about H with him.

Max saw how uncomfortable I felt and decided to drop it.
"I missed you so much babe." He admitted, looking happier than ever.
"I missed you too but I want to take it slow." I explained to him.
I always said that I would never get back with someone that cheated on me and now here we are. I just didn't want him to hurt me again.
"That's okay." He whispered into my ear, grabbing my hand with his and giving it a reassuring squeeze which made me feel all giddy.
"I'm hungry." I said out of nowhere, causing Max to laugh.
"Me too." He said while planting his lips on my neck, I quickly shoved him off me.
"Other kind of hungry." I chuckled which caused him to smile.
"Didn't you eat breakfast?."
"I did but the nerves made me hungry." I told him.
"We literally have had sex before and you're still nervous to talk to me?." He questioned, finding it odd.
"You're scary." I shot back.
"I know, it's kind of my thing. I need you to be scared of me on the track so I'm just practicing." He answered, shooting me a playful wink.
"Let's go eat now." He said while offering his hand for me to take.
"Where are we going?." I asked while we were making our way to the door.
"I've been in your city before and I know this coffee shop which has the best croissants." He explained causing me to grin.
"Lead the way sir."
"I sure will madam."
