You broke me first- Tate McRae

The rest of the night was filled with a bunch of shots and dancing, Max and I eventually went back to his room.
I woke up to someone shouting from outside the door.
"GET THE FUCK OUT OF BED."
I figured out it was one of the staff members soon enough, I propped myself up on my elbows, looking around for my phone which turned out to lay on the floor, once I unlocked my phone I looked at the time, seeing it being 10 am already, practice 1 starts at 11:30 and I haven't even gotten out of bed yet. I turned to my right, seeing Max looking fast asleep.
"Max." I called out, shaking him awake which just got a groan as a response.
"What?." He asked, somewhat annoyed, his voice was hoarse, making me let out a chuckle.
"Practice." Was all I said making him get out of bed straight away.
"Shit, what time is it?."
"10am." I answered making a string of curse words fly out of his mouth once more.
He go into his Redbull gear making me realise I had to go to my room ASAP to get my clothes.
"I got to go." I announced after stepping into my dress from last night.
"I'll see you on track I guess." He said somewhat asking me.
"You bet." I said before giving him a quick kiss and walking out the door.

I walked out the door, being faced with a bunch of staff members looking at me with second hand embarrassment and I couldn't blame them to be honest. I looked like a crazy person.
I got to my room, changing into my Alphatauri clothing before getting to the team.
I watched the F2 race at the garage before getting into my racing suit.
"We wanna be out on track first." My engineer told me, making me put on my balaclava and helmet.
"Hey." I heard someone say from my right side making me turn around so I could face them.
"Max." I blurted out, he was still wearing his regular clothing, signalling to me that he wasn't gonna be out on track anytime soon.
"The team wants you to wait?."
"Yeah, something about strategy and what not." He explained vaguely, not being allowed to tell me much more than that.
I give him an understanding nod.
"I just wanted to wish you the best of luck." He told me, his lips turning into a smile.
"I wish I could kiss you right now but that fucking helmet."he complained, making me chuckle.
"I've got an idea." Max said before grabbing my helmet with both hands, placing a kiss on the lip.
"You're cheesy." I chuckled
"I prefer to call it cute."
I gave him a playful shove, making him step back a little.
"I've gotta go but I'll be watching you okay." He assured me, his right hand being put on my shoulder.
"I love you."
"I love you too." I smiled.

"Let's get you into the car." My engineer announced.
Once i was in it only took a few minuted before I was allowed on track.
i was having some difficulties with the turns since they're wide but not wide enough to go flat out.
After about 10 minutes I went back to the pit lane switching from medium to soft tyres to see how they would feel on track.
"Try get a fast lap in,we wanna see how the tyres respond to this type of pressure." my engineer instructed me.
"Copy."
Once I pushed the throttle I felt that the tyres weren't feeling great.
"Lots of vibrations." I told my engineer.
"Got it, go for a cool down lap then try again." He instructed.
I slowed down, letting cars behind me pass me including Max.
I watched him pass me, waving at me which caused me to do the same.
"George is pushing behind you." My engineer told me so I could watch out for him which I did.
I got off my line, giving him space but he didn't pass me.
Instead he crashed into my rear making me spin off track.
The force knocking me unconscious.

I opened my eyes to a white room, a bright light shining into my eyes.
I looked around spotting Max holding my hand.
"Where am I?." I groaned.
"Hey beautiful, you're in the hospital. You crashed." He reminded me, making the memories come back.
"George." I muttered.
"He did it on purpose, he got 3 points on his super license." He explained, happiness taking over me,
"He deserved it."
"So how am I?." I asked, not feeling any pain except for a bit of a headache.
"Everything's fine, they just wanted to keep you here for a little bit to keep an eye on you.
"Thank god,so I can race still?"
"Yes, don't worry." He said, giving me a sympathetic look.
"Omg Anna." I saw Charles walking into the room, clearly upset.
"I was so worried." He exclaimed, grabbing a chair to put it next to my bed.
Max threw him a death glare, clearly uncomfortable with him being here.
"Don't you have somewhere to be?." Max sneered at him which Charles didn't seem to mind at all, mostly ignoring it while looking at me.

"I found this to be a bit more important no?." He shot back which caused Max to let out a sarcastic sigh.
I threw a questioning look at Max, signalling to him that I wasn't having it.
"How are you?." Charles continued.
"I'm alright, just a headache." I replied making him give me a comforting smile.
"I know George is a friend of mine but he went too far and I'm sure he'll apologise the moment you're back." Charles said sternly, looking pissed off.
"Thank you."
"I could've done that." Max swooped in, anger bubbling up in my stomach.
"Charles, can you step outside for a little." I asked in a friendly manner.
"Sure." He pursed his lips together, showing a but of awkwardness before walking into the room.
"Max."
"Don't even tell me that he was just being friendly."
