Hey guys, this is a really crappy chapter but writer's block has hit me hard, I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. Let me know in the comments what you would like to see happen in the next chapter.
Have fun reading xoxo.

My mind was spinning, what was I meant to do?. I pulled away quickly. I looked him into his eyes. A wave of disappointing hitting him and guilt hitting me.
"It's Max isn't?." He questioned even though it didn't sound like much of a question.
His disappointment turned into anger. He got up from my bed. Looking at me with such anger.
"It's always gonna be him." It's like realisation sunk in and I felt myself being at a loss for words.
"I better go." Charles spoke quietly, grabbing his bag from the floor.
"Charles wait." I spoke up making him halt his movements.
"Don't leave me." Were the only words I said before walking up to him and kissing him the way he kissed me.
He seemed surprised but didn't pull away, relaxing into the kiss straight after.

It didn't last long but it didn't seem to matter. All I needed was for him to stay. I didn't want be alone. Not now.
Once I pulled back I saw a small smile appear on his face.
"Why'd you pull back earlier?." He wondered, not that I can blame him.
"I just didn't expect it." I lied.
He looked into my eyes, questioning if I was lying.
"Alright then." He almost sighed, seeming to not believe me but I guess the kiss did the job.
"Let's go out, there must be some nice clubs here." Charles suggested.
"Charles it's already 11PM." I commented, looking down at my watch.
"So?, the night hasn't even started , come on it will be fun."
"Fine, let's go." I gave in even though it was such a random plan but I guess I had to let loose at some point.

Once I got ready I walked out of the bathroom as Charles was sitting on my bed, busy on his phone. The moment he heard me walk in he was quick to look up.
He was shamelessly eyeing me as his mouth hung wide open.
"Like what you see?." I teased him making a smirk play on his lips.
"More than just like." He blurted out making me laugh.
"You don't look too bad yourself." I complimented him, my eyes running down his body.
The white T-shirt he was wearing fit tightly around his body. You could see his abs through it making me gasp just a tiny bit.
He slowly stepped up to me, his hands laying gently around my waist.
I felt my heart beating even faster in my chest.
What is he about to do?.

I expected anything. Literally anything but this.
He slowly leaned in, getting as close to my ear as possible. What was he doing.
"Let's go." Was all he said before removing his hands from waist and putting them in his pockets before walking out of my room.
What just happened?.

As we stepped out of the taxi I heard voices everywhere, Amsterdam at its finest. I never really liked Amsterdam. It was always a bit too crowded for me. I felt my breath high up in my chest. I really didn't like this feeling. Charles seemed to notice the moment I felt his hand connect with mine, giving me the same reassuring squeeze Max used to give. Memories of him and I started flooding back and I felt myself feeling guilty over how I was walking hand in hand with someone who wasn't my boyfriend. Yet I didn't let go. Instead I held on tighter. This was the closest I could come to feeling like how I felt with Max and that was something I wouldn't want to let go no matter the guilt.

As we stepped into the noisy night club I started looking around me. I had never been here and didn't know anyone else besides Charles here. Nonetheless I couldn't deny the excitement that was building up in my stomach. I would always dislike going out until I was actually there.
"How about I'll get us some drinks?." I suggested making Charles nod in agreement.
As I stepped over to the bar I felt my heart drop in my chest.
There was he, Max downing a shot before looking over my way.
He seemed as caught off guard as I was, widening his eyes and walking towards me.
I quickly turned around and back to the dance floor.
What the fuck is he doing here?.
I had hope that I out walked him but nothing seemed less true the moment I felt someone tug at my wrist.
"Max stop." I screamed at him, making myself audible above the loud music.
He didn't seem to care quite enough as he dragged me out of the club.

"What do you want?." I sighed, feeling both excited and angry t0 see him.
"What are you doing here with him?." He questioned me as he let go of my wrist.
"I don't think it's your right to ask the moment you stood me up at the airport." I fired back which didn't seem to affect him.
"Why do you think I'm here Anna?, I felt guilty and took the next flight so I could still come see you." He explained, he didn't seem angry which felt strange but I was happy about it nonetheless.
"How did you know I would be here?."
"I didn't but I arrived a few days ago and went to family and friends first and when it was time to actually come see you I got nervous so I wanted a drink and there you were." He explained.
There it was again. Honesty. The one thing I could count on with Max and god did I miss that.
"I thought you would be more mad that Charles is here." I admitted.
"Listen Anna." He said as he rubbed his neck with his hand in anxiety.
"What you said the other day stuck with me, we need to find a way to be together and make it last this time so I was thinking how about we go to couple's therapy sometime?."
I could see he felt ashamed talking about it but his words only made me smile brighter.
He was thinking about us and is willing to get over his own prejudices on therapy to be together and that's all I needed to hear.
I wrapped my hands around his neck as I buried my nose into the crook of his neck, the familiar scent coming back to me .

"I missed you." I whispered in his ear making him wrap his hands around my waist in order to keep me steady.
"I'm pretty sure I missed you more." He chuckled slightly before pulling my arms away from him in order to pull me back.
"Listen, I think it's best you stay with Charles and I'll get a hotel room so we can see each other during this trip. Both of us really need this to remain a secret okay?, just play along with Charles okay?." He looked into my eyes with the most serious look on his face.
"And you wont get jealous?." I countered, knowing how well it played out a few days ago.
"I'll try to keep it under control as long as we have this facade going." He told me which honestly scared me.
"Where's the old Max and what did you do to him?." I furrowed my eyebrows.
This didn't sound like the Max I knew at all.
"You got the better version of me love, all for you." He smirked.
I placed my hands on his chest, making my way down to his abs.
He was quick to step away.
"You've got to go to Charles, he'll get worried."
I turned around and indeed saw Charles looking around in search for me.
"Shit, I've got to go."
"I"ll text you the address of the hotel okay?." Max said before we parted way.
I must admit, sneaking around was more fun than I had expected it to be.
