Honestly, the last two days of Pax East were boring. Brayden was busy with cube stuff on Saturday and today, so I didn't really get to see him. I was leaving tonight, and he said he would come to say goodbye to me. I hope he can come.
I hated saying goodbye to him. I want to be able to see my boyfriend anytime I want. As far as I can tell, I won't be able to see Brayden for a long time, maybe months.
It was 3:46pm and Brayden said they finished the panel and should be coming to my hotel now. I guess he wants to go on a date?
And there he was, knocking on the door. I quickly rushed to let him in.
"Hi babe," he said smiling.
"Hi Brayden."
"Alright come on, I have something planned for today," he said.
"Okay," I said as I stepped out the door and followed Brayden outside. We began walking to I have no idea where. Oh wait, it was a park. It was cute, it was big and there was a statue of George Washington in sight.
"A park?" I ask him.
"Yeah, I didn't really know where to go," he said. I giggled.
"It's okay, it's nice," I say while hugging his arm.
He lead me to a small wooden bench and we both sat down. I leaned on his arm, not knowing why we were here.
"I need to tell you something, so I wanted to bring you to a quiet place," Brayden said, he was looking at his feet, so I couldn't see his face. What does he want to say?
"The last few days were fun with you Cecilia," he began. I smiled, but he was still not looking at me. "And I'm going to miss you."
"I'm going to miss you too, Brayden." I still didn't know what he wanted to bring me here for. You know what? I'll just ask him. "But Brayden, what's the important thing you had to tell me?"
"I'm going to miss you, because this is the last time I'm going to see you," he says slowly and quietly.
"You're breaking up with me?" I ask. This can't be happening.
"I'm so sorry Cecilia."
I can't even process what's happening right now.
"Goodbye Brayden," I say getting up. I want to leave, now.
"Wait," he says as he grabs my arm. "Let me explain."
"It's fine Brayden, you don't need to explain."
"Yes, I do."
I stop resisting and just let him talk, not that it even matters what he says.
"It's just that, we never get to see each other, and I think you deserve someone that'll be there for you. I'm sorry Cecilia. Please, I don't want it to end with you being mad."
Was he stupid or something?
"Brayden, you're right. You're never there for me. But Mitch is, Dul is, Stacy is. I thought that no matter where I was, you'd be there for me, but you're not I guess. You're right, I deserve better. I deserve someone that will be there for me, even when he's not with me."
He was silent, he couldn't even look at me.
"Goodbye Brayden," I said and left. This time he didn't stop me. I ran back to my hotel, crying my eyes out.
I got to my hotel, I could barely breathe and I probably looked like a mess. It was time for me to start leaving. But I needed to talk to someone, Mitch. I'd figured I could just call him.
"Hello?" he said.
"Mitch."
"Hey, do you know what happened to Brayden? He got to the cube house all silent, and went straight to his room and closed the door."
"He broke up with me."
"Shit, I'm so sorry, do you want me too come over?"
"No, I have to leave soon, I just had to talk to someone," I said, breaking down.
"Shh, shhh, clam down. Cece, you can get through this."
"NO!" I yelled. "I love him!"
"Then you'll love someone else."
"But I don't want to!"
"Cece. You're going to have to move on. Brayden's always changing his mind when it comes to girls, he's not worth your time."
"Do you think he'll take me back? Can we get back together?"
"Do you really want to after what he did?"
"I don't know Mitch."
"I'm sorry Cece."
I cried again. All the tears kept falling out of my eyes. It hurt, everything.
"Thanks Mitch, I'm going to go. Bye."
"Are you going to be okay?"
"Yeah, I think so."
"Okay then, bye bestie."
I hung up. Goodbye Boston.
