"WHAT!?" Elizabeth expressed in shock.

"And that is how things went a few moments ago." I said calmly.

Elizabeth didn't believe the journey I had.
She didn't know how to react. Of course, I saw that she was glad that I was still alive but she didn't feel okay with blades attacking me, almost taking away my life.

She walked side to side in the living room. I my eyes followed her every moment while her mother kept bandaging my right arm.

"Dear, you are lucky to be alive..." Her mother said then expressed a big sigh.

"Unfortunately, you are one more victim of these polluted blades." She finished.

I turned my head to look at her. I was confused.

"Polluted... Blades...?" I asked puzzled.

"Mhm." Expressed Elizabeth.

Then I looked at her. She also exhaled a big sigh with her eyes closed. Then she finally sat down to calm herself.
We remained silent untill she decided to elaborate more.

"This isn't the first time those polluted blades have appeared..." She said.

I raised my right eyebrow.

"Care to elaborate more, please...?" I asked gently.

She nodded and continued.

"After the titans merged with this unknown land... Some blades became... Corrupted; let's put it that way." She said and leaned forward.

"These corrupted blades are what we call polluted blades. Blades that, for some reason, have a strange energy or aura surrounding them. They are almost immortal and need no driver to stay alive - they are the masters of their own lives..." She finished.

"The only way to finish their agony is to actually shatter their core crystal, and let another blade finish them off. We humans are not capable of destroying core crystals." Her mother added.

I looked down to the floor and started thinking about the situation. I had small flashbacks about my fight.

"I see... So it is like to fight fire with fire... So I guess that explains why I failed to end their lives." I said, disappointed of myself.

"Hey, don't blame yourself. You didn't know about the situation yet you managed to shatter their core crystals. You made my job easier." Mythra said and crossed her legs.

Elizabeth turned her head to look at Mythra and made eye contact with her.

"Thank you, Aegis. You saved my dearest friend's life. I'm in debt with you." Elizabeth said in a grieve manner.

"Oh don't sweat it." Mythra replied, closed her eyes and smiled afterwards.

The four of us remained silent. We could only hear the breeze colliding with the windows and the bandages wrapping my left arm.

Mythra then stood up.

"Well, I guess I'll leave you guys. It has been a very messy night for all of us. Thanks for the tea though." She said and approached the door.

She wrapped the doorknob with her hand, and as soon as she was about to turn it, I stopped her.

"Hey, Mythra..." I said.

She turned around, wondering why I called her by her name.

"What is it?" She asked.

"Can I have a word with you, outside, please?" I asked.
